Wonder how long THIS rogue has been playing ...

So I am wandering around Westfall, whacking smugglers and trappers, when I see a rogue sneaking by.

I don't think much of it at first, then I remember that I am Alliance (normally play Horde) and this is a troll walking in front of me.

"What an odd place to find a teen rogue", I think to myself.

Shrug. Back to Big Blue eating bandits for lunch.

Well, rogue-ie-boy creeps around a few times and sneaks up behind me.

Except he isn't really sneaking since I am 3 levels above him and can see him from quite a distance.

Oh, and I am on a non-PvP server too.

Anyway, next thing I see is his name pop to PvP enabled.

I watch in amazement as he creeps up to Big Blue and (I assume) tries to attack him.

Cooperative kind that I am, I enable PvP so he can succeed in his attempts.

Big Blue thumps him, I DoT him and SB him into oblivion.

Shrug. Back to Big Blue eating bandits for lunch.

I flip my camera view around to watch to see if he rezzes (and if so, if he waits for the PvP flag to expire). He doesn't. He rezzes.

Shrug. Back to Big Blue eating bandits for lunch.

Then the idiot throws something at Big Blue. I think it is a smuggler, so I turn to pull. Except it is the idiot ... err ... rogue.

"WTF is he thinking", I say to myself.

/em yawn, places Big Blue on aggressive

"Wonder if Blueberry can take him alone", I think.

Yeah. Well, with a little help from me. Heh.

Shrug. Back to Big Blue eating bandits for lunch.

Well, after 6 times of this (YES, SIX times) I log off, make a level 1 horde toon and send the idiot a tell to ask what the heck he is trying to accomplish.

Turns out, he is a total n00b (his play time essentially consisted of the hour I was kicking his butt) who's friend somehow ended up in Westfall and this dude had no clue how to get back. All he knew was he was supposed to hit /pvp before he attacked a target. And that he should always kill pets first. Someone had a lot of fun with him, at his expense.

So I taught him about the hearthstone and sent him on his way. Never bothered to ask where he was bound.

Shrug. Back to Big Blue eating bandits for lunch.

Sheesh. Takes all kinds.

Lol, Vec. Cool points for you.

You can only take advantage of a new player for so long, even a new rogue. You did the right thing. Nice of you, too.

/salute

Wonder how long THIS rogue has been playing ...

I had a similar experience once, while I was trying to open a very important flightpath one day on the eastern continent.

My travels took me through some territories that were technically contested, but were in point of fact contested in name only. Has anyone else noticed how many of the "lowbie" contested zones are safely locked away from the prying eyes of the Horde by level 53-60 zones full of horrific beasts? The Alliance on our server feels the need to issue a press release every time they roll through the "Mommy, what does a guard spawn look like?" hovels of Splintertree Fort and Sun Rock Retreat like they've just 5-manned Onyxia. Meanwhile, most of the Hordelings have never even been to the corresponding "Alliance-friendly" contested zones because of the terrors that guard the borders. Sorry, I digress...

Anyways, I finally got myself into one of these zones and was amazed to discover that there were in fact Alliance players here that were lower level than myself (only the bravest heroes of the Alliance dare to face the horrors of Ashenvale to gank... er, fight the Horde). :p

I was in my low 30's, surrounded by Alliance XP groups that were mostly under level 20. I usually waved and continued on my merry way, but for some reason I tossed out a DoT to help a lowbie rogue. I continued on for a few moments before deciding that, lowbie zone or no, I would be much safer with a pet. I had no sooner started casting when this rogue I had helped started attacking me, interrupting my summons.

He danced all around me while launching a beautiful 5-6 move combo that would have probably done something very impressive to a non-stamina focussed warlock that wasn't 15+ levels his senior. As it was, he had barely moved my bar and he was out of energy. He paused for just a moment to take the situation in, then sprinted off. Corruption and Curse of Agony took him out with no further assistance from myself.

Can't help but wonder what he was thinking, though. Prolly went immediately to the forums to demand a warlock nerf.

Yeah, had something like that happen as well.

I got bored at the end of the EU final beta, and decided my 44 druid wanted to visit redridge. I was running all around in travel form aggroing trains upon trains of level 20 heroic alliance, whom i constantly jumpe over and through, seeing if they could take me down. each pass left me with around 40 % of hp left, so i heal up and go again.

Bored of this little dance, i went into that keep with level 23 elite orcs in it, stealthed in cat. I finda group of 5 level 20-24 alliance that got 4 adds, and i knew they would wipe. Feeling benevolent that particular evening, i killed 3 of the adds, not at all expecting the ingrates to focus their hits on me.
I cast hurricane (which is TOTAL crap for a 31 talent spell) and the 53 damage per second scared them off. One moonfire on each saw their hp bars getting sliced very quickly, then a pile of lowbies was formed in front of me.

To whoever was on final 11, im sorry i ravaged redridge that night, but you have some idiot dwarves to blame for that :p
