Shadow Priests, how do you handle them?
Wow these guys are tough, they seem to have everything a warlock has, but even better and they can heal themselves, so please you warlock masters share some of your secrets against them!!! I fought my friend level 45 shadowpriest vs level 46 warlock(me) and he owned me everytime. I only beat him once with the felhunter + Deathray(crit 1,5k) + deathcoil + 2 Shadowbolt Crits. All the other times i just couldnt win, he wasnt even undead, he was nightelf. PLease help me out my fellow brothers and sisters.

curse of tounges helps a lot I hear, if they can't cast as fast gives you a lot more time to do damage that will stick |

If the priest has his Power Word : Sheild effected by his talents, he (or she) can basically have the shield up non stop. You'll waste your mana drying to nuke through it and are better off to just stay out of his way while you wait for it to wear off. If it's not improved by talents you have an approximate 15 second window to do as much damage to him as you can before he can put it back up. If it is improved... well... you're kind stuffed then ;) There used to be a discussion going on Priests as they are one of our toughest opponents. I can only provide information from the "I played a priest" side as I don't PvP :?

fel hunter can eat the PW:Shield and if you get lucky he'll spell lock their heals. then keep CoTongues on them and let them waste time cleansing DoT's. i'd also recommend using Shadow Ward 15 minutes before your duel so it can be reset sooner. spellstones could help out too. |

Why use Shadow Ward 15 minutes sooner? It lasts fotr 30 secs and is instant cast, and has a cooldown of 30 secs Also does the Felhunter automatically cast spell lock on mobs w/ mana (must checks the area for blue or something in script)

the reason to use it early is to make the most use of it. if you use it right away they can wear it down. then you'll be stuck with another 10-15 seconds waiting for the cooldown to finish before you can absorb more damage. |

try felhunter eating hiw pw, then spell locking him from heals, curse of tongues, immo/corruption, manadrain, and have shadow ward up all the time, cast it as soon as it refreshes, and every now and then life drain, and if you see an opening shadowbolt or searing pain him, searing pain might actually work better since its a faster cast dunno if it will work, but it is at least guaranteed to piss him off forgot to add, i actually used this strat once vs an alliance priest who was a couple levels higher than me during a pvp event, i managed to get him down to half life and drained all of his mana before his friends killed me

Curse of tongues, shadow ward, corruption , have your felhunter try to lock him and basically keep the shield down, and mana drain. Priests have a LOT of mana, but they expend it fairly quickly when on the offensive. Their spending plus your drain will leave them oom very quickly. They would have lost some hp to the felhunter by this time, and you might be almost dead, so pop a healthstone and start draining life till the priest is down. PS: if they keep dispelling the mana drain, they end up losing more mana than you do, and they have no time to cast offensively, so SW p is the only damage ull be taking as well as devouring plague maybe. A priest without mana is dead in the water, and warlocks are the only class that can outlive them long enough to drain all the mana. I find that using a spellstone anytime in the fight really tips it in your favor.

Shadow Priests, how do you handle them?
Thx for the input but, a shadow priests Damage spells are pretty hard to Spelllock first of all(lock doesnt last long enough anyway), second, he has many chances to heal himself, thirdly, you cannot really waste your Devour magic on eating his shield, because you need to save it in order to remove Power word: Pain from yourself, and Lastly psychic scream sucks ![]() Shadow ward does help, but, its only 300damage and has a refresh time which doesnt allow you to spam it. Maybe if i was a destruction or Demonology warlock it would be easier, but its pretty difficult as an affliction lock to beat them. Edit: Manadrain might actually work, but its annoying cause he has silence, and fear to interupt you and heal himself, etc. Ill try it next time, since it did take him pretty much all of his mana to beat me (thanks to felhunter eating most of his dots off).
