my gripe with this is that it currently adds incentives to attack high level NPC's and players, but no discouragement for attacking at least low level NPCs. they don't even have dishonor points for attacking 'Citizens' and grey guards, which i think is rediculous.

I kinda can understand why. I mean, in large group battles, where theres 20-50 people running all over the place, you don't want to stop and check the level of the guy you're about to attack. Also, if you were to get dishonor from attacking a player lower than you, whats to prevent them from starting the trouble? Remember, their ideas for PVP mostly seem to focus on large group vs group attacks, rather than the 1v1 style we players tend to focus on.

i totally agree with the aspect of players. it would actaully shift the griefing power from the high levels to the low levels in that case. i'm talking about NPC's though. if you add dishonor points for killing a level 30-40 guard when you are 60 then it's a disincentive for raiding low level towns. it would keep horde out of Redridge, Alliance out of Sunrock, etc. i don't see why they didn't do this as it really cuts down on the griefing for low level players.

Did you see that new shaman set...that is uber o_O

Always wanted a sort of ladder to come in. Also gives a reason to not gank as much. Also seems that Alliance will have different set of uber sets compared to horde. Wonder what the warlocks set looks like IM GOING TO BE THE 1ST WARLOCK ON MY SERVER TO GET THIS SET...BECAUSE BOSC HAS TO RAID CAUSE HES ALMOST 60 >_> lol

Heh, just noticed the 58 req -_-

Sounds to me that this is a "maybe" and that its currently available IF the scenarios you describe become too common. Like, the system is in place, but they want to see how it plays out before the implement it.

I just hope that with the Battlegrounds being so meaty the Hero classes are as top notch. Personally pvp is just pvp it doesn't really get me going. But I am glad to Blizzard putting out quality product since it loosk like it was worth the wait.

As I read through Blizzards post, my biggest concern is lower level folks hitting a higher level character. This could cause some problems if the higher level player ends up with a dishonorable kill defending themselve.

I hope Blizzard makes it so a person can defend themselve from low level players or this pvp system is not going to work in its current form.

Otherwise I think it will be great fun.

Although they do give Dishonor points for Atacking Civilian NPC's, under the current system, there is no penalty for dishonorable kills. Also, I believe all Guards will have to be Honorable Kills for this system to work.

From the official site:
"To make it easier to identify a potential Dishonorable Kill, such NPCs will be labeled as "civilians" in their tooltip"

Sounds like only NPC's labeled Civilians(not guards) will give Dishonor.

After Reading the way the system works i realized it's going to Literally change the way the game is being played, especially for those who play on PvP servers.

Just think about how much it will change things, i mean, i hardly ever gank people, but now ANY horde i see of appropriate level I will hunt and kill to get those points, and my enemies will be thinking the same thing. Raids on Opposing Faction towns will start to become very common, maybe even more common then instance Raids.

In order to maintain and go up in ranks you will have to constantly Rake in those Honorable kills. This means that if you want to get to the highest ranks you will probably have to invest days/weeks/months of PvPing. If you dont maintain your rank, then you'll lose your rights to use certain equipment/mount/rights. I know how people are in this game, and hell is gona break lose when this is finally implemented. I can't wait. =D>

Only 1 in every thousand characters will have the highest rank.......
