school of hard knocks achievement
I am not a fantastic pvp'er..I have only just started to venture into pvp with my guild. what i am finding annoying is that I have to do pvp to get this achievement..i think it is unfair to the regular pvp peeps to have to have non-pvp'ers in to just get this one. i am only grinding wsg at mo for this reason.so i am aiming this at me too! i am really struggling with the wsg achievement as i find i get killed etc etc..i do have a pvp set,obv still early days and mainly the tailored stuff..some from honor too. if there is any advice for a lock so i can get this out of the way and let normal pvp commence i would be very very grateful..again apologies to regular pvp peeps during children's week as i am sure it pisses you off too! |

heh my bg just lets people do it which sucks for pvp people cause it totally ruins gameplay. blizzard really need to change it to promote gameplay / learning to play a bg ( like "storm a tower in EoTS with your orphan" which is 100% more productive then current one which results in 10+ people zerging a flag ) that said it's prob the 2nd or 3rd year people has complained about it and blizzard still feels no need to change it so.... gg? |

i dont mind going into a pvp ground if i chose it..which at moment i am just stepping out into that area. so to me it aint a qq..more frustration that we have to do this and not take the wsg tactics seriously..it just ends up loads vying for flag! was ok coz we had a few wanting it so we helped stop the flag carrier before he got out of our base..that worked best |

"what i am finding annoying is that I have to do pvp to get this achievement" Blizzard clearly wants people to be well-rounded. They want people to experience as much of the game as possible, and reward people for doing that. Of all the PvP tasks they COULD have assigned, these aren't all that terrible, even for non-PvPers. A hunter friend of mine was really terrified of getting the last two of these done - the WG and EotS ones - which were the only items left on her Meta achievement. She didn't like PvP, and didn't know how BGs worked. She asked me when they (the BGs) were "less full," so she'd have an easier time of it. I explained that they only ran when the were full, and she should just be aware of what she needed to do, and if she kept at it, she'd probably get her achievements. In about an hour, she had them. Of all the things you could be frustrated or annoyed over, this isn't a biggie, in my opinion. |

The achievement ruins bgs except for the arathi basin one. You get the achievement for getting points. This is what you should be doing. Too often I see people fighting over areas like the low bridge into the blacksmith instead of actually at the blacksmith. The same can be said about towers in alterac valley. On the other hand, returning the flag in wsg for spellcasters is a huge pain. Like someone mentioned above, get guildies to help you. With the flag carrier changes from the recent patch, once they've held it for a while they get real fragile... |

Unless people cooperate on this one (and in my server, it tends to be a Horde-Alliance love fest for a week), this is one of the most annoying of all the holiday achievements. Good luck.

well i have actually got the achievement.i see the point in saying about being rounded etc in experiencing all sides of the game..but isnt that supoosed to be part of the beauty of the game where you can choose what you want to do? prob is wen i have gone in at times i have had the pvp peeps qq over peeps being on for the achi only so then you get animpsity..not always..but that is why i feel it isn't fair due to that attitude..anyway got a grp who were after it and we co-operated on it. i do want to get into pvp more as i havent really given it a full try but now my guild is starting to do rbg's i feel happier getting support and guidance to do my best even as a novice in that area! |

Got it yesterday, it really helps to have a friend with a holy paladin along for the ride. Took us about two hours, but if you really focus on exactly what you need to do it's not that bad. What a long strange trip indeed.... And I'm pretty sure the week is over, D1RE, ended at 2 am server last night. |
