destruction builds in Battlegrounds

if your gonna play with with a ruin/SM or any deep dest build your gona be putting out massive dps....... one problem your not gonna be doing it for very long, with out soul link your ass is grass, rogues are gonna notice your high damage and take you out, with soul link you get double the Hp. DPS is great and all but let your dots do the talking.

Our DoTs don't talk very loudly...

I'd rather my fellow mage cast frost nova so I can lay down some AoE...

With mods like Decursive out there, out DOTs aren't gonna be very reliable. Sometimes they'll stay and tick for great spread damage. Other times there will be some opposing Priest with this mod simply spam-Dispelling the entire raid party.

Some people have suggested playing mind games, using Rank 1 Corruption, which would actually cause the Priests to lose mana, but that's another topic.

I imagine in huge PVP battles, Mages and Priests are going to be the #1 target. And nobody is going to "notice our high damage". There's going to be stuff flying everywhere. Too much chaos.

Also, the Ruin/SM build relies somewhat on Nighfall procs...so they'll be DOTing anyhow. Lay down dots followed by Shadow Bolt machine-gun wrecking individual targets low on health.

That's how I see it happening, anyhow. I look forward to Battlegrounds.

A Nightfall Destruction build (my current build) is pretty powerful w/ some nice fear kiting. Believe this class/spec will be the type to win alot of 1v1 unless against a UD which you have to straight outdamage with the aid of a well placed Sacrifice(non-talent). Affliction is too slow against healer classes i believe (I havent been a full affliction lock in a while), and demonology is basically just a group build imo (improved imp, soulstones)

Edit : Dont forget considering the AoE talent points for a chance to stun in a large scale =D.

alot of the time the rogue will not be seen, and in most groups i have been in the pvp starts off with a rogue killing me (the warlock) first, the reason rogues slap the ganking a warlocks so much is cause in head on non gank fight, a warlock could rape even UD rogues
