Help me PvP better at lvl 31

I am currently specced into affliction for leveling but with the honour system I am often in a pvp fight.

Now this is on a pvp server and I want to pvp

I am allways playing with a mage friend and we win more than we lose so its not like I am hopeless.

But would maybe Destruction be more effecient at this level ?

When I get to level 40 I am gonna go Demon spec and the rest in destruction anyway so maybe it would be smart to test out the 20 points in destruction at this time?

at this level you are clearly cheap food to everyone.. just try to get to level 60 ... then the warlock is truely effective at pvp

I solo a pretty good bit, so I like demonology. I rely on having the Voidwalker out. If someone tries to gank me, I sac the voidwalker and summon the succubus. I have yet to be beat by anyone near my level with that combination.

I am more into anti-gank than ganking. If you were trying to go out and kill people, I would assume that destruction would be the way to go.

lindian that is untrue, with the honour system I often meet same level Horde looking to fight.

I am just starting questing in Hillsbrad and Alterec Mnts there is loads of Horde in the same level range as me, so dont dismiss this with an easy 'get to 60' please.

Tarren mill ? i cant even see the grass in tarren mill anymore, its littered with corpses 24/7.

And seriously, the warlock does not have all the skills at 31, i would recommend waiting to pvp to at least 40 if not 60.

But well, i think just fear and shadowbolts is all one can do at 31
Maybe seduce/shadow bolts

oh and stay off the main road, thats where rogues prowl, level 60 ones.

We may not have all the tricks till level 60, but telling him to wait to PvP is not really help. Those are the answers I expect to read on the official forums, not here. :x

Lorka, being grouped with a Mage, a class that has quick DPS, Destruction is certainly a very viable option. Demonology is also a very good choice as you will have the ability to quickly desummon which ever pet you have out and obtain a new one. For example the Sacrifice and summon Succubus tactic mentioned above. If you put points into Destruction, aim for things that reduce your cast time more than say mana cost and things to improve the damage.

The most important advice, is don't listen to the people who tell you not to get involved in what your obviously enjoying (hence the PvP server choice). If Blizzard wanted us to wait till level 60 to PvP, they wouldn't allow us to flag it prior...

Well its all very good of you, I guess. But the fact is that WoW is in fact a game where it is very possible to pvp when level 30ish.

I have engaged in numerous pvp actions, not the big raids in southshore/ tarran mills, but everything green+ me and my mate meet on the way is toast.

I have also killed a level 50+ warrior when we ran into him in a group of 5 (twice in fact).

PvP action is on any level, sure you get ganked by undeath rogues all the time but dont think all the action is level 60.

In the zones I frequent to level is Hillsbrad, Alterec Highlands and Mnts and Desolace atm and I very often run into Horde that is within a couple of levels of me and we engage in battle almost all the time.

Sure i dont have a million kills, I am coasting in on only 4 or 5 a night since hitting the 30+ contested areas. I am at the moment at 40ish kills I believe.

I have respecced back to Demonology because I just feel like demonology is more me ... what I was hoping to hear was if destruction was a better option or not.

But I think now that most here raced to level 60 and have never engaged in pvp before that, and thus really dont know

Anyways I might spec into destruction at some point, and then I will return and tell you all about that so anyone else that dares pvp before 60 can learn from my experience at least.

/Lorka pvping to his hearts contents even at level 30ish ;)

EDIT:
Ahh someone posted some nice advice while I was typing this up, thank you mate.
So I guess the Demon Sacrificer spec I got now aint all bad then eh ?
Hmm but as you say and i suspected destruction might be the better choice right now ... searing pain dont give enough damage but is often what i am forced to use because shadowbolt have such a huge casting time ... hmm might have to respec destruction after all soon then hehe.

Demonic Sacrifice is always a good one for you if you chose that path, but don't that if you summon another pet, the effect disappears. Alternatively you can use the Voidwalkers Sacrifice ability to give you a bit of a shield while you get your bearings and decide if it's better to fight of flee. If you decide to stay and fight, then Fel Domination comes in very handy.

In Demonology you have the buffed up Healthstones which can never be over looked, especially when caught by surprise, and I'm personally a big fan of Demonic Embrace for the added health. Pet's never tend to lass that long in mass battles, but coming across a straggler wandering the roads is different, and sometimes, pet's can last all the way to the end. With Demonology you can beef up your pets with increased effects, increased health and damage etc.

In Destruction, you have your Improved Shadow Bolt, with, when grouped with a mage I would imagine might come in very handy as Mage's do their damage via nukes, so the two of your nuking would be a painful experience I'm sure. With the chance to improve the damage you do with your nukes, and how long it takes to cast them, Destruction is definitely worth looking at, and perhaps I would bring in a mixture of both.

Searing Pain doesn't do as much damage as your Shadow Bolt does, but it's quick casting, and if you are getting beat on, that shorter cast time might just be what saves your life. Destructive Reach is one to look at as it will give you the added distance to cast from, and if you see your attacker from a distance, hopefully give you a bit of an edge. I'm not too sure on what the distance is on most of the Mage spells, but that is something you and your buddy could work out together to see if it seems worth obtaining.

The only thing I would still recommend you getting is the Improved Corruption, especially when you come up against multiple players, you just can't knock the instant cast. Another good trick I just got told from a guild mate after talking to the Mage's about PvPing... and this did come from a Mage so not to sure on his motives haha, but if you are having someone beat on you... let them and tell your mage to go to town nuking. Most players don't stop to think that if they turn and take out the Mage who's now doing serious damage, and then return to the Warlock they might live. Most just see their target in front of them and will get to the next guy next. I guess it sort of true in that how many times have we been killed by a caster mob that we'll "get to once this one's dead" ;)

Help me PvP better at lvl 31

As I said earlier in my (almost rant) I am demon specced atm and that is very very helpful.

Just last night me and my mate was running around in Alterec Highlands when we run into a 34 warr and a 31 mage. I am level 33.
My mate the level 34 mage is bugged and have to relog right when we bump into them, so its me solo against them.

Now I just whipped the floor with them, a couple of times in fact because we where right next to the graveyard when it happened.

The greatest moment was when I just finished killing the priest, instant summon and mez the warriror when he was incomming with a charge one step from me when he began falling in love with the lovely Lynlia.

Anyway my point is I dont miss afflictions at all, well maybe suppression, but imp corr is just a waste of mana in my opinion.

EDIT: As fetish said, sacrifice aint so hot, if it was instant it would be super great but right now it aint all that.

Another thing is I have Imp Firestone and I can mellee pretty hard with the stone proccing nicely ontop of the the Curse of Elements.

Solo I use Curse of Agony mostly, with my mage mate I use CoE. Then I follow up with immolate and then try nuking.
I use fear very sparingly surprisingly.

I think the one that wins in PvP is the better player* not the better class - many people react very stupid when I engage them, thus I win because I stand and fight, whenever I panic I die, simple as that.

*The better player is the one that knows his spells/abillities and react cool and calm even when it looks hopeless.
