Warlock vs Druid
Looking for comments for the best way, or for good techniques for a lvl60 warlock to beat a lvl60 druid in a duel.
Also looking for comments on if this is an easy or difficult fight, and any experiences you've had duel'ing druids as a warlock. |

Re: Warlock vs Druid
just pull out fellhunter (put auto cast on absorb magic), slap some DOTs, and fear while blasting them with burst damage...when they switch out of form to heal get ready to click on fellhunter's spell lock when you see them charging a green aura and thats it gg druid ol o

Re: Warlock vs Druid
I actually find Druids to be my easiest opponent, a good druid however with decent healing gear can be a problem, especially if you forget to spell lock with the Felhunter..
Tactics are very simple. They normally will always attack in cat or bear form, I usually start my druid first with my instance casts, Shadow burn, then death coil. 9 times out of 10 they will change form to heal, (Especially if Shadowburn or Deathcoil crit) then using Felhunter Spell lock or Succubus seduce. Drop a Curse of Shadow walk back and bolt em down. If they have any life left, Shadowburn if its back up or drop them with your dots. This tactic will normally kill most druids. |

Re: Warlock vs Druid
The spec of the druid is the deciding factor. In general a Warlock will always beat a Feral Druid or Moonkin by using the tactics as given in the above answers.
But....if the druid is fully heal-specced and heal-geared then usually you can not win. He probably can also not win and your fight will end up in a lock. I have encountered heal-dudus now and then 1vs1 - its basically impossible to outdmg his heal-abilities. Especially as he can also cc you with roots and cyclone and his Hots heal him even when he is feared, there is not much you can do. Hoping to manadrain him all by yourself when he is heal-specced with decent gear is nearly impossible, especially as you will have to drainlife most of the time to prevent yourself from dying (he can still do a bit damage). Dunno, but last time i met a healdudu 1vs1 in AV, we fought for a looong time (must have been several minutes) without any winner, laughed and run away into different directions. |

Re: Warlock vs Druid
I haven't had a problem facing a druid, don't recall bumping into a full resto one though...
The problem Druids have against us is that they don't have a way to break fear (except the trinket). So, when they trinket out of one fear, they're actually sitting ducks. The strategy i follow is pretty simple. Right now i have felguard. You sit and wait when they charge you/ attack you as cats, no need to panic. Your FG wil start hacking him. DoT and fear. They'll prolly trinket out (if they're lucky), but i usually manage an immolate. From then on, pretty simple, fear abuse and SB spam, keeping DC, Shadowburn and Intercept for when they try to heal. Dead druid. |
