An amazing SLabs run

So the other night I put together a PUG for a SLabs run. Ive been running this instance as much as I can because it has a lot of great loot for warlocks and is a pretty fast run for the most part, given somewhat competent players. After much spamming and numerous /t I had 4 players. Myself, 2 priests (1 shadow, 1 holy), and a BM hunter. I dont care about specs and such so long as I have someone that can heal and someone that can hold aggro. Finally a 68 warrior messages and says he would like to come if we dont have anyone else. Im a bit nervous about having a 68 tank but he is our only option and he did have good gear, and said that he had tanked Shattered Halls with no wipes (couldve been lying obv. but I gave him the benefit of the doubt). He was prot specced too, so that made me a little happier.

So we decide to do the spirit towers first to get the buffs, which we do no problem. Only two hordies showed up and they went down quick. We go into the instance and we are absolutely owning it. Tank is doing a great job of holding aggro for the most part, with me and the Shadowpriest holding back a bit on the trash to hold him off, hunter is really good, one of the best Ive seen actually, and the holy priest is really, really good. Ive found the rarest of the rare, a PUG that runs almost as smoothly as a guild run. We are actually working together so well that the Shadowpriest and I started messing with the tank, taking turns pulling aggro off of him on trash pulls and such. (He was sort of wound tight, mostly because he was worried about us thinking he couldnt tank).

We did wipe twice (once on Vorpil, which is always seems to happen with a PUG) and once on murmur because the tank lost aggro due to some massive lag on his side. It was a fast run, probably an hour or a bit over.

Now the cherry on top of this delicious dessert is what I hauled away in loot, check this out:

Jadenfire Gloves of Annihilation
Wand of the Netherwing
Greatsword of Horrid Dreams
Robe of Oblivion

Now, that is a good run, well worth the massive wife aggro I pulled for staying up way late.

I remember running SL a few weeks ago and getting the netherwing wand and being pumped about it - and after returning to Shatt, I got a "hey, come help us with the last boss in SL" pst from this random pug, so I figure, why not... and I end up getting the Greatsword of Horrid Dreams... awesome for like 5 minutes "work."

Re: An amazing SLabs run

.. I've given up on pug runs.. I will just grind/quest/farm if I can't convince my guild that four of them need the instances I need.

I've just had too many runs where the group manages to hold it together for two trash pulls, wipes because no one knows how to play in a group.. then I'm dead with no one in the party.

And I've had a good pug group.. once. It spoils me to this day. =\

.. I may just be pissed because of the four Ramparts groups that caved before we even got through the first three trash pulls. Maybe tonight will favor me with a better pug. (no one in my guild is playing their 60's right now, they're all in heroic mode.)
