Curse, Immolate, Sbolt. Only skip immolate if your raid is hitting the 40 debuff limit and things start dropping off (rare). The DPCT (damage per cast time) of immolate makes it worth casting. If you are not nuking at max range (rare), then throw corruption in there too. For the most part though, casting corruption requires you to waste time running into range.

Umm.. corruption is a waste if you don't have 5 points in Imp Corr.

In most cases, yes. Keep in mind that 0/5 imp corruption takes 2s to cast, 1/5 imp corruption takes 1.6s to cast, and 2,3,4,5/5 imp corruption takes 1.5s for the global cooldown.

On average, the initial + dot damage of immolate does 2500 damage with my gear, with a 1.5 sec cast. My average shadow bolts are not far off from that, with full second longer cast time.
Please, if you are going to quote me, dont take one line then make a reply out of context. My reason for leaving out imolate isnt becuase its a bad spell to cast in relation to personal DPS but because as 21/40 you shoudl be maximizing your SB casting to keep up ISB procs!

That said in a 25 man raid at least the 21/40 job is to proc Imp SB as often as possible to boost all shadow casters damage an additional 20%. This includes the shadow priests who are feeding your caster and healer groups mana. To do so, they usually apply curse and SB spam.
Thank you

Re: True or Myth??

Let just make it clear...

If you want to help your raid, you nearly always cast SB for the imp SB.

If your selfish and you want to be a top the of dps metter, cast Corr and Immo then SB.

Thank you.

Most of the time im on top of damage metter while spaming SB, but I thank the 2 shadow priest in my group for all the health/mana regen... without them, I would spend 20 % of the fight life taping.

More Imp SB, more mana/health regen = less life tap ;)

less life tap = more dps :P
