Am i doing something wrong here...??
Had a new Warlock join guild today, that night we had were attempting Lurker in SSC. Well turns out his spec was 35/5/21. Now his gear was a little less than mine e.g Honored PvP gloves vindicators, and some blues. Through out the whole fight he would be top damage. So I thought i must be doing something wrong or unless my spec is just not stable with my gear and i should work more to it? I am still new to the 0/21/40 spec and stil have things to learn, but i would like to know how i would start of the spell rotation if i am doing things right or even if my gear is stable enough for Destro Spec. I am still working on Spell Hit as it needs work ||Armory|| http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...ilas&n=Artraya I would start of With Corruption Immolate Curse of Shadows Shadow Bolt Nuke / Spam!! Life Tap at appropriate time when healer are comfortable with the encounter to heal me. I would usually only apply Corrupt, and Immolate once or twice through a boss fight, the rest is SB Spam + Tap! ------------------------------- Is my gear stable for Destro yet? Am I applying Dots, Curses in Right Order/Cycle -------------------------------- Is there any other Trinkets, Gems, Enchants, Build i should change? Ignore my Current Build as i was SL/SL doing some Arena with friends and when i respeced back to 0/21/40 i rushed and Misplaced Point. IMO, I would not even consider Destro until you have 202 spell hit, your spell dam may be a bit low as well. Spell hit could be the reason he is doing better than you, if he has 5/5 suppression. With your current gear, I would run Affliction as Destro has certain gear requirements to compensate for the lack of all of your dots running. As to your rotation, immolate does more damage than a shadow bolt. This is what I used; [I started out with my Curse, Corruption,] Immolate, SB until 1.5 seconds left on Immolate or less, LT. Rinse and repeat everything not in the brackets. I only started out with Corruption as it took time to cast, and it was better than do nothing waiting for the tank to generate 10k threat before I opened up. I used Immolate to know when to LT, only at the end of a fight I would not cast Immolate as it needs to run its full cycle to out damage a SB. |

Your spell hit doesn't support 21/40 and while Immolate's viability is somewhat gear-dependant (its normally worth casting until you hit T6 x 4 for most people) a non-instant corruption is only viable at the start of a fight when you might (as stated) be waiting for a tank to get an aggro lead (and I wouldn't do it even then). It seems as though you're really strectching your gear at the moment (gemming for crit, less than optimal trinkets, lowish spell damage) so personally I'd gem for more damge, and spec affliction until such time as you manage to reach the minimum stats for a 21/40. I'd also take the time to DL Leulier's spreadsheet, and take a glance through the fourms at some of the many posts on builds/gear to get some ideas

I'm also Destro but i find that incinerate give the most damage for me, i crit harder and more with that spell than SB. But getting your spell damage and your crit % up will help you out a lot. try this next time... Curse of Agony Corruption Immolate then spam Incinerate with a SB mixed in every once in a while. This works for me. Just an idea tho

THE destro rotation until you have the 4pT6 bonus is Curse>immo>bolt tap when needed. Talentwise look at dropping your cata points into imp immolate and emberstorm. (even though shadow is superior to fire destro in a raiding environment immolate is a staple until you get the T6 bonus) As for gear you could try a 0/40/21 to get you a few more crit % for isb 10% vs 21/40's 8% +crit along with extra damage etc from deep demo. Again before you spec out of aff you need to be bare minimum 150+hit and even that is very low. 202 is what you really want. |

there is normally about 3-4 locks so we mix it up and throw up everything lol Curse of Agony is what i picked and between all of us there is 1 of every spell up there lol |

I would suggest replacing your spell damage/spell crit gems with spell damage/spell hit gems. If you want to stay destruction go for it. Your crit rating is still low but you need the spell hit on the gets much more then you need the spell crit. |
