Partial Resists with CoE!

Hello dear Warlocks,
having a close look at my combat log after not performing as well as I used to, I noticed that I'm having partial resists even on Trashmobs in ZA.
Before Patch 2.4.3, one could mitigate the resistances by just applying CoS - doing full shadowbolt-damage whatsoever.
When I'm on CoE-Duty (single-'lock-raid) I feel I'm being gimped DPS-wise by strange game mechanics I cannot understand.

(Smørebrød's shadowbolt crits Halazzi, dealing 1400 damage (4600 absorbed) > )

Is it just me or has anyone noticed it as well?

[Ps: Hope this is the right section..would be something between spells and/or mob resistance topics]

Here's a link to a thread where its all explained because I'm too lazy to type it all when the section under "Spell Resistance" covers it.

Enjoy!!

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

A boss has some amount of resistances that are unable to be mitigated by any means. These resistances are due to the fact that the boss is a few levels above you.

Basically you can never completely remove partial resistances from ever happening on a boss.

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

Absorbed and resisted are 2 different things. It should say X damage(X resisted) not absorbed.

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

Absorbed would be due to some kind of shield like a Priests Power Word for example. Like Pure B said, it would say X resisted. Similar idea but slightly different mechanics.

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

Due to my heritage, I'm playing on a german client - which means that my translation was just dead wrong. ;)

> As I said, I'm not talking about boss mobs, but about Mobs in general - Zul Aman Trash Mobs, for example.

I shall be taking a screenshot next time I notice it.
Do these replies mean that noone else has witnessed such dramatic decreases, damage-wise?

ps: Thanks for the link though, Leb. Definately going to refresh those less-used wires in my brain.

edit: quoting from the link:

If there is any resistance on mobs or bosses, this can generally be negated through a Warlocks Curse of Elements spell.
As far as I know from experience (and from those quality information on wowhead and wowwiki), Halazzi does not have any specific shadow resistance except for the base 6% of Lvl73 raid encounters.

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

I don't think I've ever really noticed trash mobs having resistances to be honest. I'm sure there might be a small bit here or there, but nothing big.

*** Information added 0 Minutes and 36 Seconds later... ***

And yeah I was thinking that the language thing was altogether possible as somethings don't translate quite the same.

Re: Partial Resists with CoE!

As far as I know, innate resistances are given based on level disparities between the attacker and the attacked. So as long as the trash is higher than level 70, then it will still have a small amount of resistances.

..which STILL are being negated by CoE.

I'm kind of lost, there. Will add a screenshot asap.
