Re: Guild Progression Aggrevation...
I was in a couple of guilds that hit the progression wall. The first was hit by the Kara Curse (10 good players, not enought to move on to 25 mans) the second had enough good players but was uber casual, to the point where raids weren't scheduled but if on any day enough people were online we'd run one. My current guild is still focussed on clearing BT before Wrath. Some people might think "what's the point" but for me, I like playing the game and these challenges are new. I pay my £9 a month and don't just want to repetitively grind gold and battlegounds. We might not polish off BT before the expansion but we'll have done as much as we can. I should mention that my current guild is also casual - as in only raids 2-3 nigths a week and requires 50% attendance. But, for those nights to be worth anything everyone must show up flasked, oiled, food buffed, stocked with pots, etc. Casual guilds become a lot less casual when you spend night after night wiping because people don't turn up prepared. We look at it this way: we've got 4 hours to raid on a night, we've got to get as much done as possible in that time so everyone has to be on top of their game. If one person slacks then 24 others could have their night wasted. We all have jobs or school so wasting people's time is not acceptable. I suppose we like to see it as being as professional as the hardcore guilds but without the demanding raid schedule that those guilds have. So it depends where you find your fun in the game. For me it is beating new bosses so don't like it when people slack in raids. |

Do you know about that tiny shortcut just before you start the trash for the lynx boss? where you go in from the bottom (next to the water) go up and take a group of lynxs down then jump into the windows of the huts ( there r 2 huts next to each other), then walk along the wall and jump inot the water (if you have a shammy make sure he gets reagents for water walking, evry little bit counts at that point) then all you have to clear are 2 aoe pack and 2 pats before the bosses room, and ofc plus the ones inside. 1 wipe and its very hard to get the 4th chest event And just keep people moving no stopping for relaxed mana breaks Also take the highest DPSrs in your guild and till you crack it keep the same group of people so there will be less explaining to do and more killing. The Lynxx Boss should die within 3 min P.S. We also run the timed events with just 2 healers more room for dps ;p , then get another healer for Hex-lord onwards just to be safe Last edited by Alsaladin; September 22, 2008 at 09:57 AM.. |

Re: Guild Progression Aggrevation...
Well, it sounds like your guild is stuck in t4 content and hasn't really begun to progress through ssc/tk let alone hyjal/bt/swp. Realistically it takes a guild that is in t6ish gear to blast through the timers for za and get a bear mount. A lot of times even groups like that can't do it because for example my guild gets really slack in all content besides BT/SWP and even those sometimes. Not too mention that many of us have alts that we'd rather bring to non progression content. However, it really isn't the gear so much as the synergy and competence of the group that passes the timers. I've done it with a smattering of t5 and t6 players better than I ever have done it with full t6 groups and we didn't buff besides class buffs eg no food/oil/flask. I think 3 timers is a reasonable goal for any group that has done a full clear with relatively few problems. |
