Affliction Warlocks Damage
Hey sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I would like to ask you guys a question regarding affliction warlocks in raids. I've been noticing that whichever Affliction warlock gets the first Shadow Embrace on the boss, would prolly out dps any other affliction warlock in the raid, assuming that all of them are equally geared, and have all their rotations correct. If the first aff lock manages to keep shadow embace up on the boss throughout the fight, no other affliction warlock would out dps him. Is it a bug that blizzard hasn't fixed? Or has blizzard made it so that only 1 warlock may have that buff on the boss if he manages to keep it up throughout the fight. If blizzard has made it such that only 1 warlock can have the debuff on the boss, is it viable for other affliction warlocks to have 5 points into shadow embrace considering the fact that all the locks in my raid are affliction warlocks? Thanks in advance ! |

That's right and I don't think it's working as intended. We'll see after the patch if and how it's fiexed. |

I remember a blue post stating that this was fixed in PTR and will be live when patch 3.08 comes. It is a bug. |

But doesn't shadow embrace affects DoT damage from everyone in the raid? Even shadow priests? I have noticed our shadow priests dps went down when our locks spec dest. |

I shared this post with the other warlock in my guild. For us it seems that we still do the same amount of damage, no matter who gets the shadow embrace effect first. |

"...increasing all periodic damage dealt to the target by you..." The one Warlock that manages to keep up SE throughout the whole fight will end miles ahead of the other Warlocks. We both are hit capped, both have 2.1ksp and some change (self buffed) our crit is ~12.5%. With lag and alot of dc's lately on our server, I keep forgetting to continue on with WWS after I start it. So unfortunately I don't have one to share with you guys. Our next raid isn't until Jan 5th, so I will try to get you that information then. Our raid set up is kind of crappy for us as well. We do not have a boomkin, SP, or even an ele shaman. I also will admit that there are times when one of us will greatly out damage the other, but usually it is because one of us is slacking. Shadow Embrace affects ONLY the warlock who put it up. This can be a 500+ dps loss for the other affliction warlocks in the raid, depending on the damage they do. This has, however, been fixed for patch 3.0.8 and is currently working properly in the PTR. |
