I need a Hero(ic)
Howdy, Haven't been 80 for very long and because I'm in desperate need of some gear to get my dps up ( along with gems and enchants ) it's far too tempting to try and run heroics that are out of my league. TOC Heroic was a good example - really fancy the Spectral Kris but after a while, it was obvious that throwing 1.5k dps in TOC Heroic just wasn't doing the job. So after a few 'colourful' comments from some PUG members, I've decided to quit on aiming too high. I've pretty much rinsed TOC Normal so I was just wondering if you guys have any comments on the best places that i can still challenge myself, get good gear but not bring down a group that's shooting higher than me? The two mains aspects i Need to vastly improve on are SP and HIT as far as I can see. Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Cheers! |

I would go for easier heroics such as Nexus, UK, UP, DTK, VH, and Gundrak. Those should net you some decent gear and some easy emblems too. If you're lacking on hit and sp then you'll probably have a rough time in naxx and may even get kicked. Most people these days want quick naxx badge runs and will boot anyone not pulling their weight. |

Re: I need a Hero(ic)
If you got everything from TOC normal, go get mark of the war prisoner from VH heroic (should bring you close to the hit cap) then you should have sufficient DPS for most, if not all heroics. I was dishing out over 2k dps the 2nd day after I hit 80, it shouldn't be too hard to gear up for it. As for Naxx, any halfdecent group could esaily carry you through naxx 25, but I wouldn't go for naxx 10 yet if I was you. You're a much larger part of the DPS there and if you're not performing (due to gear or other reasons) it's a much heavier loss for the group. I suggest reaching the hit cap and getting mostly epic gear (from various heroics) then get that spectral kris. The next upgrade for it (I think) is the Turning tide from Kel'Thuzad in Naxx 25.

Hard to offer any other suggestions since you logged out in PvP gear. |

Make sure you do whatever heroics you do with the Kirin Tor or Wyrmrest tabard on; both have some nice rep rewards. VH has a good trinket, chest, and neck if I recall, and it's not too hard. UK has a good wand with hit on it if I recall from the first boss. Nexus has some epic cloth hands. At least I think it's Nexus... All three of those are easy and good for someone doing 1.5k DPS. |

Re: I need a Hero(ic)
Ah Evictoray... If only I had the luxury of a wardrobe full of many and varied PVP and PVE outfits, trinkets and weapons. Alas, the gear I'm wearing is pretty much all the gear I'm running at the moment. Hit the BGs pretty hard for Honour when levelling which probably explains my predilection for stam. but I'm playing with the big boys now so I'm looking to expand everything, so please be patient. Thank you all for your help, this is still my first character so even the most basic hints you can offer go a long way. Cheers! |

Kaliban's Loot List It's sorted by zone, dungeons and raid. Use it as a quick guide to find which 200 epics and blues you need before doing Heroic ToC or actual raids. I'd tell you to get the two Ebonweave crafted pieces to make it easy to get your hit points to the cap, but no one seems to bother anymore with the easy access to epic gear. |

1. Probably the group you were in for ToC heroic wasn't that great overall. If you did 1.5k dps and they weren't able to carry you through then probably they were not that great either. 2. Get a weapon. There's no excuse for having a weapon with less than 400 spellpower, you can buy it from the auctionhouse (titansteel spellblade) or with champion seals from farming the argent tournament dailies (forgot the name), or in the worst case farm Kirin Tor reputation and get the one from there. There's also off-hands that you can buy on the auctionhouse. This should give you 1500+ spellpower together with your current gear. More than enough to go to any heroic and for Naxx (and VoA) raids. 3. If you want to raid you should work a bit on your hit rating, at least 11% would be good and you should respec to take 3 points in supression (drop soul leech and improved soul leech). Buying the T8 robe from the emblem of conquest vendor will be a good start to get the hit rating done. 4. Go practice your rotation on the training dummy and see where you can improve. |
