A hint Blizz does think locks have aggro issues...

In my experience so far, nobody misses the tanks doing zilch for threat, but even though tanks were way ahead on the threat when Wrath of the Lich King first came out, dps is catching up to them... hi warlocks!

World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums - It's so hard to pull aggro from tanks

Just in case anyone missed this since it's buried in a thread about tanks and aggro. This is a blue post that seems to recognize that locks are big threat magnets.

Whether that means they'll do anything about it, whether that means they'll fix it, or whether that means they'll nerf our damage again, who knows...

I hope this does mean something! im usually always 2nd below the tank on bosses and not even the top DPS.I just think they should make soul shatter better.

This is good news. I am always 2nd in aggro unless there is a better geared warlock in the group. lol

Can someone post this to news? It's a small bit, but a bit nonetheless

Wow...would it ever help if they did something about threat. Fire heavy Destro is really difficult to manage sometimes; esp when the tank has to kite.

Why do people keep saying "fire-heavy destro..." like there is any other kind of destro??

Destro = fire-heavy
Destro =/= shadow-heavy

...sorry for hi-jacking the thread for this little rant. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

It is always my goal to pull from the tank when raiding... I've done it twice so far in Uld. /cackle

Re: A hint Blizz does think locks have aggro issues...

I totally agree about a deep Destro build being an aggro magnet. I would usually sit around 3rd or 4th on Omen when I was 40/31 but since swapping to 13/58 I am constantly blowing our MT's threat in no time at all. I have even tried waiting a good 20 seconds on bosses before starting my rotation but within 1 1/2 rotations I am forced to either stop casting or blow soul shatter followed by a period of non-casting.

Any fight that requires kiting by the tank has become a major bane due to aggro issues. Add to that any fight where there is a damage boost (Malygos comes to mind) and I find it really hard to manage my threat.

I'm not too sure what Blizzard have in store but I personally think they need to do something about Warlock aggro issues.

Tack a little threat reduction onto life tap and take it off the global cooldown. That is my ideal situation =)
