Re: Class Q&A Warlock

What should I say?
Wait and do not pay!

Questions are reasonable, answers are ???
Implementation is in far far future, who knows if ever.

Additionally, players have often suggested allowing Demonic Circle to be usable while stunned, is this something we'd consider?

A.The reason we don’t like making Demonic Circle usable while stunned is that changes the ability from a remote evacuation into a stun-breaker. Our concern is locks would never use it except for the stun removal, which makes the spell a lot less cool. Circle is definitely one of those abilities that requires a lot of finesse. Clever locks can do amazing things with it and beginner locks might not get as much benefit out of it. It’s probably also fair to say that stuns (especially chained ones) have become too important in PvP, especially now that we have toned down the impact of some of the other forms of crowd control.

I dont think this question was answered very well... the answer was focused on the demonic circle, not what they plan to do about warlocks in PVP against rogues and hunter. i would just like to see a warlock stun break. honeslty rogues are the only class that i am concerned with in PVP. and its not because they are good at playing their class, it's because they can stun you for 15 seconds and kill you before you can do anything about it. our fear breaks off if too much damage is done, does their's not do that? a rogue 12 levels below me killed me because he stunned me and stabbed me to death and i did not get ONE break in it. NOT ONE. that is overpower to me! (didn't mean to take this into a PVP rant, lol )

If the only class you have problems with in PVP is rogues, then that would be considered OP.

Rogues are not the problem. Fixing rogues vs warlocks will pretty much do nothing for us in PVP, particularly in arena. We don't fail at arena because of rogues. We struggle in PVP because we have very little that lets us get away from melee classes.

Very well said. Blizz nerfed Fear to the point where it is barely usable in PvE, never mind PvP. Death Coil would be more useful if the cooldown was shorter. But, as Fallenman has said, we have very little ability to escape melee of any kind. Couple that with cloth armor and we are dead.

I guess as long as a spell is "cool", everything is fine, right Blizz? Even if we can't break a stun and die before getting off even one spell. Demonic Circle would be a great opportunity to give us something useful for PvP, but it appears that Blizz will fail again. I still like this game, but they sure do make it difficult sometimes.

ah crap you're right... lol Don't let blizz read this, they'll nerf us. hehe

but what i was getting at was that i do "OK" against other classes, it's just that rogues are the worst for me. the better gear you have the better chance you have, but still my opinion stands that rogues are just a bit OP'd in PVP. period. and they have great skills and a great build but the stuns are too much. but that's part of the challenge right? hah.

on a slightly more thread related note. Who all is going to Blizzcon to hear this big announcements? unfortunately i do not have the time, nor the funds to travel across the country to attend, do they televise it (doubt it) or show any live feeds on the net? i would definitely attend that

Re: Class Q&A Warlock

Sounds like most people have my same frustration with this. Yes, I know it's a QA and I know that BlizzCon is right around the corner, but if you aren't going to answer any questions that haven't already been answered by the PTR notes, then why bother? I went back through and all of the answers can be summed up with either 'yes, we see, and if you look at the PTR we've fixed this' or 'that may or may not be something we could change in the future, but we have nothing to announce.' Why waste our time?

Re: Class Q&A Warlock

They left a great deal about any viability for the demonology tree in pvp.
The ability to detect stealthily rogues should be afforded to all pets.
A more permanent demon from was needed .
Demon and Fel armor need to be buffed.
Demonic circle needs to be only visible by warlocks.

These are some of the concerns more important than green fire or a new flying mount even though i asked about it.

1. Threat reduction talent for 20%
2. Make Soul Shards Stack
3. Demonic Teleport - Insta Cast and Removes Stun.

FIXED.

Not quite, also need to:

Remove Meta form vulnerabilities in PvP.

Make Meta boost Haste and Crit 20% along with damage so that it scales properly.

And as GC said in that interview, what helps to separate us from Mages is that we're typically harder to kill because we tend to have higher stamina and we have less escapes. Apparently that is part of what defines our class apart from Mages. The problem is that with all the homogenization of gear, we no longer have much of a difference in stamina from a Mage but we still have no escapes. So not only can we not escape Melee, but we also can't outlast their attacks until we can do our thing.

It appears that Green Fire fans might have some rejoicing. I'm thrilled that they're considering updating our Pets, I love the armored Void Walker models from the Outland. I would love to see a random assortment of Warlock pets running around instead of all of us having the same models.

I'm very curious to know what they're thinking about Shards, some sort of combat boost? Blowing a shard should be a big deal? Yes, bring it on, I wanna know. I hope its good.

Over all though, the interview wasn't terribly revealing, many of the question and answers were things already known and on the radar. There seems to have been very little extra to drool over.
