Updates to PTR Patch Notes : Quest tracking gone?

Nothing much else of interest to warlocks in the latest patch notes, but the anticipated Quest Tracking feature (showing quest objectives on the map) may not be part of the patch as previously promised:

User Interface section updated: Quest Tracking feature removed

It would take a lot more than that for me to stop using carbonite, FWIW. Sorry, Blizz...

Amen Carbonite IMO is the single most helpful add-on esp. while leveling whether its your main or an alt it makes it so very nice. Good luck Blizz but I doubt you out do Carbonite any time soon but thanks for the effort!

Never liked Carbonite, too many features I don't use. I prefer QuestHelper.

I find it funny that Blizz has taken on the mentality that "people shouldn't need 3rd party addons to play WoW", but they allow the addons to be created in the first place and they create their own in-game versions of the same addons that usually end up inferior to what outside parties have come up with (like their threat meter).

Re: Updates to PTR Patch Notes : Quest tracking gone?

The ONLY thing I like about Carbonite is the quest map feature... the one where it puts colored areas on the map and mini-map indicating where the quest mobs/objectives are.

If anybody knows of another addon that JUST does that part, I'd rip out Carbonite because that's the only part I want.

I don't think QuestHelper will do that... am I correct?

What features of carbonite don't you use? I am just asking because I may be missing some of them without realizing it.

The objectives and quest givers show up on the mini-map and the main map, but only the main map displays the large blotches of colour that show all of the areas of the zone a certain mob type inhabit. There is an icon that shows on the mini-map when you're close that corresponds to the one that is on the main map.

i don't think it's gone per se just pushed back like the wardrobe function, having been on ptr, it seems they've done some extensive work on the feature and it doesn't feel like blizzard to just utterly trash it and give up.
