Re: Hotfixes to patch 3.2.2

Ok, so what happens when you DC? Is the 30min timer still ticking? Get rid of the 30min, and I can understand doing this. Guess I've got some reading and experimenting to do.

Doing some quick reading, wasn't this implemented in '07? If nothing has really changed, but something was "fixed" then I guess DCing doesn't remove the SS as I've definitely done that in the past.

Re: Hotfixes to patch 3.2.2

they gave us an alternative means to fort, gift and kings... there's really no incentive to park toons outside of instances for buffs anymore

i assume the change only tests on initial pull. it would be pretty annoying and prob resource intensive to check every microsecond if SS on X = SS from warlock Y

IMO... this "nerf" is more of a fix implemented because some people cheated on purpose and won't affect normal raiding in any way and those that did use it probably already knew this would be coming a.k.a. were aware that it was an unintended "cheat".

Also, I don't think you are fair in your comments about warlocks not showing up on the patch-notes. Blizz are working on a major revamp of the class - which (last I heard) will go live before Icecrown. If they started implementing major changes to us now, chances are some of the code for the soulshard change (which will make us the CD class) would get mixed up with the current release making the entire class buggy etc....
I'd clearly prefer that they do the shard change properly, especially since we seem clearly alright in both PvE and PvP atm... (not that I do a lot of PvP but from what I hear).

"I don't think you are fair in your comments about warlocks not showing up on the patch-notes." What's not fair about stating a fact?"

"Blizz are working on a major revamp of the class" For better or worse, we don't know. Now we could look back in history to see what to expect....

"which (last I heard) will go live before Icecrown" Pure speculation. Last I heard it MIGHT make it with Icecrown.

So lets summarize. I am unfair for stating a fact. You are taking the class change as good with blind faith in Blizzard. And you are all excited because you heard a rumor that these changes(good or bad) could be out before Icecrown.

I have come beach front property in Arizona you may be interested in purchasing. Maybe you can use the money from the good reverend from Nigeria to purchase it. I can hook you up if you haven't seen his generous offer.

Ouch, if you have an unstable lock that dc's during a fight his soulstone will dissapear? Abuse is one thing .... but this is going to suck.

Yes, I do like the direction soulshards are taking, because I have an abstraction level that allows me to see the possibilities in this - and yes, it will be buggy when it arrives because it is a major revamp but I still like it... I actually play the game because I like it, and I play a warlock because I like that... I know it might be a hard concept to grasp.

With regards to my comments to your posts, it's a matter of the tone some of us like to keep here on the Den. The Den has always been a more mature forum than the official wow-forums, I for one would like to keep it that way.

And yes... Blizzard makes mistakes, but they actually care about the game and they do the best they can within the boundaries they have. That is all I will comment on in that connection, but feel free to keep trolling.

Re: Hotfixes to patch 3.2.2

This isn't a nerf, it's a buff. Now we are needed to be there instead of just putting a ss and be done with. If anything, this make us needed a little bit more. Makes sense too. A Warlock keeps the stored soul. If the Warlock isn't there, there's no one to keep it.

Mostly unrelated:

I went into Ony10 on Sat, and DC'd as the fight started. Despite several attempts, I couldn't log onto the server thereafter. I finally gave up. Logged on again quite a bit later and they had finished Ony - I know cause guildies were in the grp and I messaged them. Joined another grp on Sunday, got there, and I had been saved.
