So is it safe to say destro is the best dps spec with new changes, I have been having great success in affliction lately. |

well, i was just looking at the buffs on some destro stuff. i used destro alot at 80, uldy ect. but switched to affliction at 85. it just looked like quite a buff from 4/6/10 to 5/10/15 or whatever the numbers were exactly. it seemed like that would add a little more than a 1% increase in total. |

The three specs are Simcrafted so closely right now there is only about a 5% difference between the best and worst warlock spec in BiS gear on a tank and spank fight. Looking at the sim results "best" is going to depend entirely on how many ads and how much movement each fight will require. Demonology is also looking to be the highest DPS class in the game (excluding the 10% AP buff melee are going to get in the new raid, I don't think Simcraft is accounting for that). Warlock specs in 4.3 are probably in the best place they've ever been for PvE, relative to one another. Playing what you are most comfortable with will probably make more difference than spec to many people. |

I take it all specs benefit from the soulfire buff? Or is that Destro only? I ask this since the tier 4 piece using a soulburn soulfire to proc the spell power buff.

I think the way I'm going to approach my spec at this point is to sim all 3 with the gear that I currently have (reforged/re-gem to be optimized) and see which one gives me the best numbers. When I start getting new gear from DS I'll check it again and see which spec my new gear supports the best. From the amount that I have looked into it seems like the biggest variation in spec performance is from how your stats are set up, because they are all so close in dps. @ImRorschac Demo and Affliction aren't going to really change anything in regards to using soul fire until you get the 4pc t13 bonus, then you will soulburn on cd and soulfire to get the shard back |

i'm happy to go destro again. i played destro with good results at the start of cata, actually few of the starting bosses were better for me as destro than affliction.(valiona, nefarian, even maloriak to some extent). on the ptr i went destro from the start, with some nice results. considering that i had 250 ms ping on ptr, and i have 30-40 on live, i do believe destro will suitme just fine(i just suck at more than 100 ms, and destro is all about mashing buttons) the only sad part is i finished this tier with 247/250 siphons for the legendary, so i'm gonna need a quick firelands run to get it, and i'll unfortunately get the nerfed weapon. anyone knows how much it's been nerfed? used to be about 10% extra damage from the staff, how much is it now? |
