Well, one you are probably better at affliction than Destro. It takes time to master a spec to push top dps out of it. Little mistakes are the difference between a few hundred dps. 3.1.nerf had 0/41/30 as the top dps spec by a large margin over deep destro, yet I could alwys push higher performance out of destro since I was better at it, yet the other warlocks that stuck to it clearly beat me in almost every encounter becuase of the builds potential over mine and their ability to play it.

Secondly not all builds scale the same. Some, like Destro, scale incredibly well with raid haste and spell power buffs.

That could be it. Maybe on the dummies, it seems very similar, but the raid buffs might make a big difference. Maybe I'll keep working on the dummies for practice and next week, I'll just raid as destro just to see where I fall on the dam meters with full raid buffs on.

Cant make a new thread yet since I just registered here... But I am torn between these two specs for PvP: Spec A - 19/11/41 Spec B - 25/3/41 (not sure yet where to put the remaining 2 points if I do choose this spec, though there are a lot of likely candidates) With Spec A I have Soul Link and what I would presume to be more survivability. With Spec B I have Siphon Life and what I would presume to be more damage. Both of them include Shadowfury as a nice form of burst damage/CC, along with Conflag as a nother form of burst damage/CC. And I'm not entirely sure the two specs are even going to feel very different, they both do the same thing, just in a different way. With Spec B allowing better survivability against burst damage. I wonder a bit about the points you put in improved shadow bolt. I don't see 5% crit rating helping you a lot, with all this resilience floating around... Have you tried searching the PvP forums?
