3.1 41/30 to 13/58 in Ulduar Test

So yesterday after the patch I went from 41/30 to 13/58. My friend stayed as 41/30 and before when we were the same I'd either beat him on the meters or we were pretty much even.

After switching we did 25 man Uld to Auriaya and he was consistantly beating me in every single fight (being only once tied at Iron Council).

I'm doing the standard CoD->Immo->Conflag->Chaos Bolt->Incin

and using the Conflag, Immo and Incin glyphs, but damn I was getting the rotation down and everything and yet still seeing a loss compared to 41/30.

So not sure what the deal is with this. I know some people are saying LT glyph might be better, but I've also hear this is not the case.

That's my experience anyways comparing it to 41/30. Might have to either consider re-speccing back to 41/30 or trying to figure out what more to do with the 13/58 to get me up higher on the meters...

If you keep your gear the same you got to consider the crit rate, your previous spec had more crit rate then your current one. So in theory you have a lot of power in your hands but lower crit.

I tried switching from 0/41/30 to 0/13/58 and I just embarrassed myself. I guess I'm just not that good at it. I was trying to keep up corruption for the two piece t7 bonus, maybe that was a bad idea?

Since I had two specs, I tried them both on the target dummy right before our raid. I put out 3700dps as 53/0/17 with a succy and 3100dps as 0/13/58. I really hope that I'm doing something wrong.

I was using CB>Immo>Conflag>CoD>Corr, with Immolate as a filler, refreshing/burning cooldowns as needed.

Re: 41/30 to 13/58 in Ulduar Test

wrong rotation bro, since COD takes so long to work out its the first to cast, a timing priority (60 sec sight) then you have to cast imo cus it will bosst the damage from other spells, then conflag (dont foget glyph) to give your next 3 spells extra cast rate. you gona be making CB and in boosted by F&B with imolate, and it will be almost 1sec cast time for those 3 spells. keep using con*** all the time is possible.

also, people say cor its not worthy on the spec, 1 sec casting cor does less damage then half a inc... duno if thats true never made the calculations my self...

Re: 41/30 to 13/58 in Ulduar Test

I tried the destro spec on the PTR test dummy's, and I thought the result was pretty decent, my dps was almost as high as the 40/31 in the execute phase (both with my own gear). gear is more or less T7.5 levels with some Ulduar upgrades (but no set boni). Was around 3.8-3.9k dps. I only made one attempt, didn't try to optimize

One thing that one should keep in mind is that the deep destro spec scales extremely well. If you look at the simcraft results, a mere 100 dps difference at T7.5 gear levels turns into a 600 dps difference with T8.5 endgame gear, comparing the 00/13/58 to 41/30. This in turn means that if you only have T7.5 or even worse gear, the destro spec might actually be inferior, although maybe only slightly.

Then there's also the effect of being used to playing your spec... maybe you have to give it some more time.

btw, the fights aren't perfect to compare.
FL - nothing.
Razor - depends on trash a bit, and also positioning might be unlucky if the tank moves
XT - AoE damage plays a role, can be lucky/unlucky
Kologarn - some random events that influence your dps output
Auriaya - interrupts and AoE damage

But yeah, thanks for the feedback anyways, I'm looking forward to raid with this spec and will report if I can beat my own numbers.

Im not 100% confident this is correct but if you use dual spec system and you change from a spec to deep destro then you are stuck with only rank1 CB, the problem being that everytime time you switch spec to deep destro you need to go to warlock trainer and re-train CB to max rank4. Can someone confirm or refute this please. Thanks.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is why. I know my friend has when we were 41/30 2% more crit then I did. So switching to 13/58 and lowering my crit while still keeping his up might be a reason I'm dropping in the charts now.

I might have to re think this and try back as 41/30 for awhile until I win some better crit drops...
