Fallenman's 3.1.2 Quick Raid Spec Rundown!
If you have specific questions about your own spec, gear, raid, etc, PLEASE post them in the appropriate forum!!! The warlock's den help center, located here: The Warlocks Den Help Center - The Warlocks Den Forums First, a few quick notes: -The purpose of this guide is for a quick reference for locks who are lost with the changes. The majority of this info is found in the simcraft thread on EJ. For an in-depth guide, a new 3.1.2 Raiding Guide Compendium will be released, with more cake and pie than ever! -Lifetap Glyph. Please see the section at the bottom, with an in-depth FAQ about this glyph and how to properly use it. There are a lot of misconceptions about this glyph. -This guide only lists specs that are among the top personal DPS performing specs. It should be noted that it is usually worth having one demonic pact deep demo lock in the raid for the utility. -The glyph of conflagrate is UNCHANGED in patch 3.1.2. It still simply makes it so that conflag does not consume immolate. -I have put a "rotation prioritization" for most specs below. What this means is that you cast the spells in this order of priority as soon as cooldowns are up, or a dot has expired, etc. 0/13/58 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...31051335230351 Pet = Imp Glyphs -Incinerate -Immolate -Conflag Rotation Prioritization CoD, Immolate, Conflag, Chaos Bolt, Incinerate. This spec has great burst, and the huge benefit of Improved Soul Leech, which not only provides replenishment to the raid, but also restores your own mana, making it so you lifetap far less often. 3/13/55 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...31051035030351 Pet = Imp Glyphs -Incinerate -Lifetap -Conflag Rotation Prioritization CoD, Immolate, Conflag, Chaos Bolt, Incinerate. This spec is the same as the previous spec, but without ISL. This spec also uses lifetap, so be sure to read the lifetap FAQ below. 53/0/18 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...00000000000000 Pet = DG, otherwise Succubus Glyphs -Haunt -Lifetap -Curse of Agony Rotation Prioritization SB to start (if you can precast) - Haunt, Corruption, Curse of Agony, UA, SB. * *You will use Drain Soul in place of SB after the boss gets below 25% health. This spec also uses lifetap glyph, so check the FAQ below. 0/41/30 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...31050000000000 Pet = Felguard Glyphs -Incinerate -Lifetap -Felguard Rotation Prioritization Immolate, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Incinerate. * *You will use Soulfire whenever decimation is up once the boss goes below 30%. If you can get far enough away to use 1:1 weaving then do so, but don't sacrifice a greater buff (e.g. Hodir lightwell buff) to do so. It's only about 150dps loss to do 2:1 weaving. This spec also uses lifetap glyph, so check the FAQ below. ---Please note, this spec does not scale as well as some of the others, so eventually it will start to fall short in DPS as you gear up in Ulduar, and you'll want to respec to one of the other builds above. This last spec is sorta worth mentioning, however it, and any remaining specs, all tend to be behind the above specs at this time in personal dps: 0/40/31 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...31051000000000 Pet = Imp Glyphs -Incinerate -Lifetap -Conflag Rotation Prioritization Immolate, Conflag, Curse of Agony, Corruption, Incinerate. * *You will use Soulfire whenever decimation is up once the boss goes below 35%. Meta Demonic Pact (utility) 0/56/15 http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?warl...0&version=9901 Pet = Felguard Glyphs (see the above linked talent build) Rotation Prioritization Demonic Empowerment, Curse of Doom, Immolate, Corruption, Shadowbolt. * *Metamorphosis and Decimation usage: You should use Meta every cooldown, so long as the boss is above 35% health, along with immolation aura. Maintain your normal rotation. After 35% you can still use meta, but do not go in for immolation aura usage. After 35%, use decimation/soulfire the same as the other specs above. Don't quote me, but if I recall correctly demo pact was fixed so that it now benefits from the spirit buff part of FA. I think this was fixed actually in the last minor patch. |

What about 41/30? That's still a viable personal DPS spec and EJ has it listed as the 2nd highest (behind Deep Aff + DG) DPS spec out there. |

I thought 53/1/17 was the deep Affliction Spec ... because of 1 point in Fel Synergy to keep your pet/demon alive ... has that changed somehow or should this only be used if one has problems keeping his pet/demon alive ... ? Oh and welcome back Fallenman ... glad you returned to us ...

He has 53/0/18 listed because SimCraft's thread on EJ uses that build. SimCraft doesn't account for pet survivability, thus the one point in Fel Synergy is seen as wasted. However, in practice, this is not the case. You should still be going with 53/1/17.

1) Welcome back Fallen. You were missed. Don't let the Internet fanbois get ya down. 2) I'm still droping 4500-5100 dps using 0/41/30 FG. It's a viable raid spec for sure. 3) I've respecced my off spec from affliction (Which i realllllly hate) to 0/13/58. I'll post some dps numbers tonight when i get out but i need to read up on the rotations. I still think Curse of Agony should beat out CoD in overall DPS if you can stay on top of the dot dropping. 4) As for your other post, I was asking about soulshards. I havn't figured out what I was doing to eat throught hem, but i was afflictionf or a while alst raid and maybe something there was popping them off. who knows. I need to farm more for tonight. |

thank, mate. i just checked--and it looks like that may have been addressed, the DP/Fel Armor bug. i'm wondering about the less frequently-seen DP not proccing at all because of bug with Prayer of Spirit. a month or so ago, i couldn't get a DP uptime of more than 21pct on a night of ulduarring... and i haven't specced back since. my felguard is sadface just in WG. |
