With Destro it just keeps scailing better with gear, more or less like it happened on entry to T5 items in BC Quote:
Yeah with deep destro I try and keep my crit between 20 and 25% for raids whislt stacking as much haste as possible which i have around 14%. On dummys if used the right rotation i can hit 5k dps. In a 25man your bound to get your crit buffed so 20% is good enough. Oh and with the Ulduar case since there are alot of movement bosses melee are bound to out dps casters. Re: Spec Scaling?
I think you do kind of need to look at the set bonuses from T7 to 8.5 and see how they affect you. T8 for example, is about adding 20% onto UA or immolate. Considering both are up for the entire fight, this benefits any spec that uses these. The 4 set bonus, increases your crit chance of SB and Incinerate. Considering destruction warlocks will probably have more crit than afflocks, this may be better for destro BUT if warlocks have enough haste to make up for that then it scales pretty well. However as SB has a longer cast time than incinerate then destro still might win in this case. However what you have to realise is it's not always about gear. A well played affliction warlock can outdo any other class or spec in damage when played to its full potential. Unfortunately certain boss fights are a bit nasty to us afflocks, take General Vezax for example, so we don't shine in certain fights. But then again, on fights such as Yogg, we outshine destro by a mile. Yes Destro does scale well with the higher tiers often better than other specs however it's often the way you play and the way you work with your spec for certain boss fights that allows you to shine. It's sort of the same as in pvp, it's very rare to see a well played affliction lock in arena but when played well it shines big time. |
