My guild is asking me why i'm still affliction. Now the main reason i tell them is that i don't have the gear for it(which is true) but the reality is that i like affliction too much to change. I struggled to make my lock my main since my guild was so melee heavy in naxx (got sick of being in a 3 deep frost tomb on KT) learning rotations, gearing, etc. Does this make me a bad person because i don't want to change to the "top lock dps spec"? |

Well you can always tell your guild they don't need a scorch bitch mage since you are Afflic. |

Re: Trying to justify staying affliction.
Dual spec. I'm Afflic & Destro. Depending on the boss you're fighting sometimes Afflic will come out higher than Destro, sometimes Destro higher than Afflic. |

Do they know anything about locks or did they just find the simucraft post in EJ? |

Re: Trying to justify staying affliction.
Are you the only lock in raid requiel? I would suggest just arguing with your performance. If you do well, and outperform other classes or your fellow warlock, noone should ask about your spec Also, unless you're in a hardcore guild, you should be allowed to use whatever spec you like, as long as you perform well. |

Re: Trying to justify staying affliction.
Tell them that you LIKE playing affliction. You do perfectly fine dps and it may not always be the top, but it isn't hurting the raid. If anything you're helping because they don't need a scorch bitch as Danorsi stated. It's a game. Play what you enjoy. Don't change specs because its not the 'top' warlock spec.

Also the self sufficiency/healing as Aff while progressing is a plus |

I am not a hardcore raider, and this argument has come up in the Den before, but my advice is to play whatever style/spec you enjoy. As it has been said many times before, until the day that someone else pays your subscription fee for a game, you should play whatever style/spec you want since you are paying to play. Just my $0.02

Re: Trying to justify staying affliction.
K, all the things said here are things that i've said myself. I know dummies don't really count for much, but as self buffed affliction i can get 3.5k dps, as destro(i did dual spec for it, i took that step at least) i can't even break 3k(about 2700 or so) And yes, i'm the only raiding lock in the guild. But one of our raid leader's brother is a warlock in one of the server's top raiding guids, and he's the one that talks about it, and then it spread around the management. Re: Trying to justify staying affliction.
i love playing my affliction loch i like draining the health of the enemy slowly while my own hp rises and convert it to mana like the black and purple smoke while putting my dots up. well thats why they make duel spec i got my duel spec with soul link and siphon life when i do pve and it works great with pvp! cause i can run around while casting dots and my fear spells like howl of terror are instant! i went to VH in nagrand and that last giant king kept on doing these stun moves on us. i noticed something during the fight.... i did more damage on him then if i wouldve switched to my second spec demo with improved imp cause while he kept on doing those damn stuns on us my dots were still ticking away killing him even when nobody was even able to get a swing! so goes to show you if your happy with your spec and have fun playing it and its doing the damage it needs to kill the things you and your guild need to kill nobody cant say nothin to you! and if they do keep telling you to get out of your affliction spec (lets say you dont have duel spec) and you do it your not going to be happy which leaves you with one option.... if they keep telling you to change spec and if you dont want to that is not the guild for you there plenty of other guilds on your server that will make you happy and except you for the warlock you are! <Gazmor> _ / | / * | <o_o> =Hucus Pocus PEW PEW!
