since this thread has shifter to rotation may i ask what if you threw in a corruption to your rotaion? would it hurt or hinder your dps or make it go father? in example CoE/CoD, immo, corr, conf, chaos, innc, innc, etc... |

As deep destruction, yes, casting corruption is a DPS loss. Try this: Reset your DPS meter, go to a target dummy and cast a single corruption on it. Record the total damage done by that single corruption. Now, reset the meter and cast a single incinerate. I don't know about you, but my corruption does about 4k total damage versus my incinerate's at least 4.3k damage (that's about the lowest I've seen it hit; it has a 40% chance to crit for 10k+). Corruption should only be used if moving. It will actually reduce your DPS if it is in the priority list of spells. |

If you can get the gear to do this, swapping some haste or crit in for all that hit you have would be a good idea. You are waaaay over hit cap for typical raiding (where other classes and races have abilities that lower your need for hit). There is a post somewhere on this site called "What's the hit cap Mr. Wolf?" that will let you know what to shoot for. Being over hit cap doesn't hurt you, directly, but if you are sacrificing other stats to be there, then it hurts you indirectly. Other than that, being flexible with your rotation and practicing on the dummies is your best bet. And for destruction spec, corruption is not a great spell to use unless you have to move and so can't cast anything else for a couple of seconds. Otherwise it just gets in the way of casting immolate and your other spells that are better uses of your cast time. |
