All Warlock Guild?
I remember back in the "old days" (pre-The Burning Crusade) seeing a guild of nothing but Shaman... "Shamies n Pajammies". As I recall, they never really grew much in numbers, but I hear they did well in the instances they ran or the BG's they ran (forest of totems anyone?). I have seen movies on youtube of an all Priest run on Ony. with a Shadow Priest tanking (again...pre-The Burning Crusade). So I know this is not a new concept, but how do you think an all Warlock guild would / could do? Would they be able to do some of the current "end game" raids (Kara for example)? I shudder to think of what a premade WSG / AB / EoS of nothing but Warlocks would look like... DoT's, Felguards, Shadowbolts, Drain Life/Soul, Seed of Corruption EVERYWHERE!  You could use CT Raid Assist (or similar), set a "main tank" and everyone dot his target...tab through as each target gets a full load of dots...Rinse and Repeat.If I were to add one class other than a Warlock...it might be Priests.  OR...am I totally off my rocker? Would such a guild of nothing but Warlocks get owned? Personally, I don't see it. The up close and personal, toe to toe, clubing over the head, kind of fight could be done with a few Felguards... or could it (backed up with DoT's and the normal Walock dps)? If anyone is on Spirestone (US) and would like to try it, drop me a line in-game. Sounds fun, but i dont think there is a way for a Warlock to tank Attuman without external heals, to hold aggro he would need to spam SP. And certanly there is no way that a pet can hold aggro from 10 other locks. Maybe a very careful DPS while the pets of all the warlocks tank, something like the pet tank elite technique. Now, with holy priests and very good geared PvP SL/SL warlocks this has a chance to work, we would need to try. Last of all, it might be doable at the time using the PTR, so if you really want to try do it fast.

Yeah, you would certainly need some sort of healing to pull it off. Maybe a Shadow guild? Shadow Priests and Warlocks? |

I just hit 60, so I've never done arenas, but I wonder how an all lock team in 5vs5 would be!! Like 2 demo specs, 1 afflict spec and 2 dest spec... I think it would do pretty good! But like I said, never taken part yet. |

I once ended up in a random BG full of warlocks. All were ooh oehhh. wooow. To bad we were so mean and vicious we could not enjoy it very long. I honestly can not remember anymore but I thought it was against a full rogue pack. It was over with the a blink of an eye. Well ok as far as you can blink 3 flags. Pawn is all I can recall of it.

We've actually done this. 15 man Pre-made AB all warlocks. :D needless to say, we pwned face. :D 160/2000 alliance, 2000/2000 horde locks :D it was sooooo fun!! things got dotted up and left alone. you could watch it die in 5 seconds - 15 seconds tops! if a caster class happen to go against us, you'd see a mob of felhunters just rush for it. roughly 3-4 felguards in the group, i saw 1 doomguard and 1 infernal, maybe 1-2 imps and succbi, the rest were... felpups!!! haha!! i'd post a screenie but I'm at work and the screenie is at home. I'll try to post it later tonight when i get home (i hope i don't forget) |

Well I am the GL of a warlock dominated guild, we started out as an all warlock guild, and we have had to add DKs to tank and are currently looking to add some healers for our DKs. We have had to evolve. . . the problem has been that even a felguard will die when facing high level bosses in a couple of hits. Tho we have been very successful al lower level instances. I had a dream of an all lock guild about a year ago and have had to modify it since inception, tho I am still of the oppinion that the lock is the best class in the game, even we have to accept that we do occasionally need other classes. Locks were able to tank for a little bit during one of the last patches pre-Wrath of the Lich King which gave the void walker very high aggro generation capabilities, the void walker was capable of generating more threat than the best geared tanks there are a couple utube videos of the void tanking bt pre-Wrath of the Lich King. That bug has since been fixed but for what its worth we had end-game tanking capabilities for a couple months. Now if we can get a bug that allows great heals. |
