Making Gold

Okay i have been trying since the beginning of this year to save gold for my epic flying mount. People all the time say they can finish their 10 dailies and make 70-120g in well under an hour.

If you are one of those individuals that can do all the dailies in an hour, please list the ones you do and the order you complete them and how much gold you make for each one. Also state if you use public transport and/or have epic flying mount with any type of speed boost (aka riding crop) while doing the daily quest.

I am also 375 herb/alch so if you have any suggestions on how i can make gold from that, then add that to your post.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Making Gold

I'm not very good at farming for gold either. 5200g seems like its going really really slow for me. So I feel your pain.

Re: Making Gold

5k gold was a pain to get. I actually made it to about 4,400 then a guildie covered the rest since I'd make the remaining 600 back in a short time. At the time I was doing some of the skyguard dailies since you can do those without an epic flyer.

Try to get some help getting to the Ogri'la dailies in blades edge as those sky guard quests are MUCH easier to handle than the ones in Terrokar. I was going for the netherdrake so start working on a few of those and get to neutral. This wont get you much but it will get you ready for when you DO get your epic flyer.

The other things I did was sell alchemy mats (im an herbalist) and some of the potions/elixirs I could make (im also an alchemist). Try putting up pots a couple hours before all the raiders are supposed to go. The unprepared ones will need pots/mats and will pay for the convenience of getting it off the AH.

Grind rep items for scryer's and aldor. Sell what you dont need for yourself. The Tomes and Armaments are the best too sell as they give the most gold.

After I got my epic flyer I finished out the netherwing dailies since i wanted a drake. You can make the most of your money back doing these dailies.

I hope that helps some.

Re: Making Gold

If you have any areas you didn't complete quests wise on the way to 70, finish them at 70 for much gold. I hit 70 part way through blades edge, and made 2-3k gold from finishing off blades edge, netherstorm and shadowmoon valley. much more profitable per hour than dailies.

Re: Making Gold

I agree finishing quests is a really quick way to make alot of gold. Plus you may pick rep along with em.

Re: Making Gold

i did the 2 sketties, the daily pvp, and the 4 ogrila dailies. i still have loads of 70 quests to do but i REALLY hate doing quests. but yea you can make 100g a day. just take your time dont rush to get the epic flying mount. focus on gear and you wont even remember you are saving for it

Re: Making Gold

Thanks for the posts. I still have yet to go into Blades Edge and doing any quests there. I have finished most of the SMV quest and working on getting the quests done in Netherstorm. I am trying to get a group together so that I can get the Ogrilla start quest completed so I can start doing those dailies. As far as gear I have acquired a decent set mostly coming all this year.

Re: Making Gold

Right now on my lock I am working on saving for my second epic for an alt... fortunately it is only 60 right now.

But I have the netherwing drake and I usually go through and do the skettis bombing, then I run out to netherwing and do the mine quests (2 of them) then I go to ogrilla and do the bombing there followed by the simon says. It takes me about an hour to finish all of them, I do use the riding crop since it makes it go that much faster.

When I was saving for my epic I was herby/alcy, I have since dropped the herby for tailoring but that's beside the point. What I did is when I would do the skettis bombing I would pick up at least 3 - 4 of the elementals there daily for not only the herbs but also the primal lifes that would pick off of them so usually in a day I would have 1 - 3 primals after killing them plus the herbs. So I would make pots/elixers with the herbs and sell off the primal lifes while doing the dailies for both sketties and ogrilla, I had the money for the epic in 2 - 3 weeks time, after I figured I could do it.

Hope that helps.

Re: Making Gold

blades edge dailes can take about 30 minutes if youre quick and get a group going for bombing and banishing. then take the taxi to skettis and do the bombing there. (although i do this one first). before this though, get the cooking daily, because one is in BEM and the other skettis. if you dont like farming for the mats, just choose the box of meat reward rather than the fish.

Re: Making Gold

As I have been working my way up (61 at the moment) I have been told by my guild that I should try my best to ignore 2-3 zones completely and get the xp through instances. Supposedly when you hit 70 if you go through and do three zones worth of quests you will have enough money for an epic flyer.
While this doesn't really help you out too much since you're already at 70, I agree with the others about going back and completing quests for gold. Too, you may want to look into getting a subscription to a site like redguides or the like. They offer a lot of tips on how to play the auction house, what mobs you can grind for specialty drops that can boost your income.
When I hit 60 on my warlock I had all the gold I needed to buy all the mats to do my mount quest right off the bat with almost 80g to spare. I do have a 60 pally that did a little mithril grinding to supplement my income, but tops I got 200g from him, most of which went to training/repairs.
