The extra Closed Beta invitations have now been sent! Thank you for being patient with us, and best of luck from the Blizzard team!

If you do not get in, I hope to see you in Open Beta. ;)

it's just speculation but that sounds like the next phase will be open beta.

Is this the last closed beta phase?

i sure hope so, would like to play alittle even if it was only for a little while but release will be soon after so i am just happy now, Preordered the game a fews days ago, so i jsut want to release

there is still 3 classes without them(Warlock, Pally, Hunters) i think that is all, So how you figure they work that out, next push or whatever they put in Pally and Warlock or all three, or just the two and then Hunter somewhere else. Still baseing on game coming out sometimes in november so maybe two week push in talents for Warlock and Pally and then push in Hunter a few days after maybe

Given that everyone is saying release by Xmas, most likely Nov, then I would say, yes the next phase will be open beta. They'll probably push through a few patches to get Talents and such in before then... but I don't think it's far off.

Come on release! [-o<

i'd say october is for the remaining patches, november for the open beta, and december will be for release. i have to be right. my best-friend's wife's sister's uncle's dog's vet's brother works in the blizzard mailroom and he said that's possible.

I'm not sure if this has been posted but an official response has been issued on the extra accounts that were issued.

Subject: Instructions for second authentication key

As you know, Blizzard is conducting a new phase of the World of Warcraft closed beta test. As a part of this phase, over 10,000 new beta account authentication keys were emailed to prospective testers.

Unfortunately, an error was made during the issuing of these keys and a number of current beta testers accidentally received a second authentication key.

Although it was never our intention to send additional keys to current testers, we feel it would be counterproductive to disable these keys when the opportunity presents itself to widen the beta test pool. Thus, we encourage you to distribute this second key to a friend. Please do not create a second account with your new key as this would be in violation of the Terms of Use agreement.

This email authorizes you to deliver the second authentication key, along with the original email instructions, to a friend whom you believe would make a valuable addition to the closed beta test. This person can then create an account to play World of Warcraft by visiting www.worldofwarcraft.com.

After creating a World of Warcraft account, your friend will need to contact Billing and Account Services at Billing@blizzard.com to change the email address associated with this second key. If your friend does not change the email address, then any future emails related to that account, including technical support information and instructions on downloading subsequent patches, will go to the original email attached to the second authentication key and not to your friend.

For quick access to each individual tester, and to comply with the Beta Test Terms of Use agreement, please ensure that whomever you give the second authentication key to immediately associates their email address to the second key.

Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see both you and your friend in the World of Warcraft soon.

Is this the last closed beta phase?

Excuse my ignorance, please.

How exactly will an Open Beta work? Will any and all have the ability to play or only those who applied for the Beta, way back when?

Thank you for your time...

The "Open" beta will be available to anyone who applies and downloads the client. This will be the true test before release. Any betters on character wipe? I would think Blizzard will wipe existing Beta characters? Or do you think they will just leave the Closed servers alone and put all the Open characters on new servers?
