Is this the last closed beta phase?
i'm betting on a full character wipe. there are tworeasons. the second is having to coordinate the beta accounts with new payed member accounts. the third is that letting people play their beta accounts is basically money that blizzard won't get in the long run. if these people start out as being the top players then there's little incentive to start over. this also makes them get bored of the game sooner since they've maxed their chars out in 2-3 weeks. this also means that new players won't stay with the game if they don't have an equal chance like everyone else. but almost every game out there has done a character wipe at release. blizzard won't be any different. |

There are always character wipes come release, but I think Larsz was talking about the open beta. I'm hesitant to say there will be a char wipe come open beta because a lot of the closed beta members will just wait instead of being forced to start a new level 1 character with 3 gazillion other level 1 characters. I would think they might leave them in so the higher level content still gets a few tests, they are going to have enough low level's testing that area it's not like they will miss a few. And yes, Open beta will be what you can download of Fileplanet. Basically all you need to participate is an internet connection. :D
