Tooltip crit- ultra, mega, super noob question
What the heck y'all talkin' about? What tooltip? Cursor hovering over what?  Told ya it was a noob question Zeetocht, aka noob mere hours from 300 days played

Tooltip crit refers to when you are looking at your character page, or the armory, the amount of spell crit listed on that page. It's called "tooltip crit" and not just crit, to let the person know you are not including talents in that number. For warlocks, tooltip crit does include backlash, but not devastations. So if i were to say I had 20% tooltip crit, you would know I'm not including the 5% crit from devastation. |

Wow, quick response Aim, thanks  When might the crit on my character sheet and the crit displayed on the tooltip be different? Maybe I just never noticed but I think mine have always been the same. Not only do I have a lotta days played in WoW, I been around the block a few times in rl too, spent 23 years in the Navy, wandered down some dark alleys in pursuit of adventure and may have incurred some brain damage in the process

I can't think of any situation where it would be different, the only case would be if there were items that were + crit to only a certain school of magic, cause when you hover over it, it shows your crit percentage for each school, which is always the same across the board. |

It's other classes that have crit to specific schools from talents. Our crit for some reason was instead only given to destro or all. |

That reason being that aside from healthstone, seed of corruption and the UA proc, all our critting spells are destro. Demo or affliction crit is nearly worthless, so to have them you'd want crit with destro to make talents giving it worthwhile. Or that's my best guess.
