Most played/favourite alt and why?

A lot of players are currently focusing more on what's coming (Wrath of the Lich King) more than what's current in the game. A lot have put their mains aside as they are either unable to move ahead any further because they're either at the end of the current raiding scene or are far from it and will never reach it due to many reasons. While everyone waits for the new expansion, a lot look to alts for a change of pace, to experience something different or to simply fill in time.

I myself am on my Hunter for many reasons, and would have to say they are my favourite alt. In fact, I'd go as far as saying they share equal spots on the top podium for me. So really I guess, a Mage is my favourite 'alt'...

Hunter: I love the Pet classes, obviously, and I really enjoy the ranged attack. I find it funny I enjoy a Hunter so much in WoW since the Ranger of EQ never appealed to me. There's not one particular thing about the Hunter that causes me to enjoy them - I just like them as a class.

I also do 10 times better on them in PvP than I do on my Warlock, so gotta love that!

Mage: Nukes baby! Nothing can be more satisfying that seeing a big number flash above a mobs head and cause their health to plummet. Mages are all about the big nukes and I love it!

My Mage is also my only level 70 (not including my Alliance Priest, but I don't know anyone on Alliance anymore...)

So, what's your most played/favourite alt and why?

Re: Most played/favourite alt and why?

Well I have to say Shaman for the sheer fact that I have only 1 alt (and that one being a shaman )

I took the path of a shaman because I considered it to be very different to play than a warlock, as it can be utilized as a healer and dps (I've seen some elemental shamans out dps a lot of other classes when played by good players), never gonna do much raiding with it though (maybe in the end of Wrath of the Lich King) as my main still requires so much work, therefore I just do BG / Arenas with it now and use it to make gems /pots /flasks and the like for my main.

But all in all, very fun and different class to play, didn't go for mage/hunter because they were just too close to the warlock as playstyle.

Re: Most played/favourite alt and why?

Druuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiddddddddddddddddd :P

She's currently only level 23 right now but I want to try and have her at least in Outland before the expansion hits, however I may leave her at 55ish so I can level her with the new Death Knight fluctuation.

I always liked the idea of a Paladin but the way they were implemented was not what I wanted, however when I realized Druids can do decent DPS whilst healing I knew I wanted to level one... I intend to make her Resto when she hits 80 and use her strictly for PvE (No cookie cutter PvP Resto druid for her) so if I can't progress much on my Lock I can fall back on her.

I'm also considering twinking my Rogue, only level 10 at the moment but PvP with my Lock is boring as hell.

Hunters annoy me as they're always the first to gank me but I'm thinking of starting one to try it out.

Also what I'm thinking of doing is leveling every class to 20, see which one I enjoy the most and carrying them on or something.

Re: Most played/favourite alt and why?

Main is SP I started playing around half a year ago and now is raiding in BT.
First alt was druid but I stopped playing at around level 30, melee fighting just wasn't that interesting and casting wasn't nearly as good as other classes. It will probably change once it gets to higher levels.
Second alt was lock that I got to 70 in ~8 days /played. Loved every minute of it, especially soloing the 3-player quests with big elites to kill. It was quite similar with SP but with pets and decent damage. Haven't got further than Kara with it but it was quite nice there.
Third alt was paladin. First 35 levels were painful but I pushed on because I liked the concept of prot aoe-levelling and I hoped that with tank I could do more instances than with pure dps class. At the moment it's level 46 but leveling up pretty decently.

I'm not sure what class will become my new main when the expansion comes, that'll probably depend on what classes my guild needs the most.

Re: Most played/favourite alt and why?

Sigh... I'm alt boy so I guess I'll rank them.

Rogue: After getting killed by them so many times, I really needed a taste for what it was like. I play him a lot since it's kinda fun, but not just for the rogue aspect. He's an engineer and doing very well so far. I go around shrinking people for the hell of it. He's also undead, and using my say NOM NOM NOM NOM and laugh macro while cannibalizing is really fun. Ironically being a rogue is last on my list of reasons to use him, since stealth gameplay is something I tire of easily. :(

Shaman: Another class I started not because of the class itself, but for other reasons. This time it was race. I love taurens, they are my second favorite race. After seeing the game intro where a tauren lets dust fly off in the wind, and reading some lore, I had to make him a shaman. I find him really fun though. Enhancement stuff, ghost wolf, stomp. The problem is, he's an alt I use to play with my girlfriend and her friends who made a guild. When do they play? I depends on the current planet alignment. :(

Mage: I made this guy like 3 years ago. My first character, a human. Ironically I'm not a fan of humans in the WoW universe since I read up on the lore, but that's another story. He's in his 40's, and maging is an odd change of pace from being a warlock. It's the one alt I have a tough time readjusting to. He's my original character, with whom I discovered WoW, was amazed by discovering Westfall and many other places. He also killed and was killed by Hogger, my first elite encounter. The feeling I used to get when discovering new areas with him has never been duplicated with any other character. I think it has to do with the music in alliance areas sounding more epic and magical. He's special to me for being the first, and I like to revisit him and hope to reach 70 eventually. He's also my only character who's name is not a Vulcan word.

Druid: I made this guy a while ago, but left him there unplayed. When I get tired of all of my alts AND my main, I visit this guy. Still in his teens, I made him to level him for when the Emerald Dream expansion comes out, since Blizzard claims that there will be special things for druids then. I also don't mind all the shape shifting, swimming around, travel form, or jumping off a cliff, turning into a bird and swooping away. Looking forward to that.

I have a character for every other class but they are low level and never played, made mostly just to claim the name and leave them there for a rainy day. I even made a draenei paladin just because I thought the one in the intro looked neat. Maybe I'll play him seriously one day.

ROGUE for me. i started to level on b/c one of my rl friends plays one. he makes it look fun and so i started one. hooked up with a nice guy around level 21 or so, and we leveled together till level 53. he dropped off the face of the server and i kept going ..... i really like being sneaky, and i am going to take revenge on the warlocks on the other side once i hit level 70! lol.

my rogue is an engineer and enchanter, it has been fun(somewhat) leveling his skills too. already at level 64 has his epic helm.
