Anyone tired of being called OP?

...heinously tired of hearing "Warlocks are OP"?

A conversation from one of my WoW communities on LJ.

ME: I swear to Goddess if one more person says Warlocks are OP I'm gonna pop 'em. Maybe we were once upon a time but since nobody is ever satisfied with ANYthing in this game and Blizz gives in to EVERYone's incessant QQing, EVERY class is steadfastly becoming OP in one area and nerfed in another and quite frankly, 45 seconds of looking like Illidan does NOT make up for slashing no less than eight other talents come Wrath of the Lich King. I'm not saying we deserve our own flyer, however amazing that would be, but we're long since not OP and will be even less so after the new expansion so STFU and DIAF. Kthxbai.

PERSON 1: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even Kalgan (lead dev) has said that some parts of Warlocks are still OP. Seed of Corruption for example was never meant to be the strongest AoE in the game (Mages are supposed to have that job). Between that and watching one Warlock solo group quests 3 levels above them without taking damage, and its pretty clear that the complainers have a point. Part of the problem is really how for a year when Warlocks were completely broken, the players all said "no it's fine, you just suck." Don't worry though. Death Knights are the broken class right now, so they'll be getting the attention.

PERSON 2: I realize that Kalgan is the lead dev, but to be perfectly frank he's said a few things over the past couple of years that honestly make me question whether or not he's ever played a warlock at all.

PERSON 3: I don't know of a single class that can easily kill warlocks easily in PvP. That's how I decide if they're OP or not, and to me, that means they're OP. In PvE I out-damage them weekly on non-AoE fights or we're neck and neck, so I don't see a problem there.

ME: Um...ROGUES? Any melee class can take us down but rogues are our mortal enemy, physically impossible for us to beat one unless he's about thirty levels below us and clad in whites.

PERSON 2: Depends on spec and gear more than anything. Any non-SL/SL warlock should be a free HK to just about any class. As it is, warriors and rogues are the mortal enemies of warlocks. There's a reason why nearly every PvP warlock has Soul Link - because they quite frankly cannot survive otherwise. I should know because I PvPed for months as full Affliction and it was quite possibly the most masochistic endeavor I've ever taken on short of PvPing as a resto druid pre-BC (also a free HK). One talent (that's being nerfed - again) doesn't make a whole class OP.

PERSON 4: Someone please give that person a medal! I am so friggin' sick and tired of hearing how OP Warlocks are. Fear is soooo OP...you know, since 90% of PVPers have their trinkets and can easily pop out of it. And guess what; by the time you start to recast they are already on top of you. Some Rogue yesterday was saying "3 sec stun VS 8 sec fear". Umm...I hate to say it but I have YET to see 8 seconds of fear. The first cast is supposed to be but it never happens for me and I've been PVPing daily for a while now. Stuns though? Lets see. I trinket...and am immediately restunned. I stay stunned until dead or somehow miraculously it slips for a second long enough to get that Death Coil off. CoE and try to run. Oh, nope, he deadly throws me and now I'm moving slow too. Stun, stun stun, dead. Rogues and Warriors in actual PVP gear are our bane and I have yet to see any class that could easily take out a Rogue, even Hunters lately can't do it as easily as they used to. So take the OP whining crap and shove it at some other class, 'cause it don't belong on Locks.

Comments? Opinions? It can't just be me, I really do NOT see how we're OP and my "Pissed Off debuff" keeps piling up every time I see/hear that.

Warriors are just stupid meatbags for me to kill for my pvp pleasure. No matter how geared or smart they think they are.

Rogues pose a threat and kill me about 60% of the time I would wager. I pvp with a succy so i have my own outside stun to break their stun. I don't waste a trinket on that crap. Now the one thing I will complain about though is how fear and seduce share DR. I don't think fear and banish do as I think I had fear/banish chained a druid once who didnt get how I was banishing him.

But I highly disagree about needing to be SL/SL to pvp. Much less I beat any SL/SL in a 1 on 1 as raid spec with me in raid gear.
