You guys are Mean

About the time I think I have a warlock figured out, you guys head in another direction in a thread. This is all is not a bad thing. Sometimes I feel like a moron, who's in way over his head. I've always played a hunter, but love the way a lock's engery is self supporting. I have a level 62 hunter
that i'm working on and he goes thru manna like a addict thru coke.
I trying to level a lock to get it to the outlands to make fair comparison.
Plz keep up the good work you all are doing here.

PS.I was playing my lvl31 lock the other day and realized that I'd been playing for over 2hrs with no food or water in my bags.

Re: You guys are Mean

Levelling is a static game, but endgame changed.

When I started posting here, T5 was the best you got, people thought MH was impossible and supposed to be so, and patch 2.3 hadn't made T5ish gear relevant. When all this changed, most people could support a destro spec, and so suddenly it became relevant to raiding, while, people also started daring to try felguard, where they were previously shouted down.

As such lock theory hasn't so much gone in a new direction as grown out. While simular sorts of things have made pvp so different with each passing season of gear...

Yeah, basically every patch note you read has the potential to shake up everything you know about your class.

Example, of sorts. Recently, in the beta, it has been noted that the regeneration rate is now per second rather than per tick, while this seems minuscule for the most part, the ramifications are actually pretty huge. Rogues currently have to time their attacks to their energy ticks while now (if this stays in wrath when it goes live) they'll be able to attack as soon as they energy is there, which would speed them up a good deal. And I don't think I have to tell you what faster rogues mean for our class... :(

Yes, this is actually part of a new talent.

Take down a warlock while other members of their faction are present. All other warlocks in range will run in fear for 10 seconds. Your "I hate that guy" factor increases by 1. Stacks indefinitely.

At level 64 you get Aspect of the Viper, which will help alleviate the mana problems. It is not a be all/end all, but it definitely helps.

I never use either...Life Tap and First Aid FTW!! If you're low, life tap, bandage, and then drain a mob or two...voila. God I love locks.

I dont really understand what you'r saying here.
That they will be able to do their attacks as soon as they get their energy? If thats what you meen then htere will be no changes, all rogue's attacks are instant, meaning that as soon as they have enough energy for an attack they will be able to do it.

Peace out. -Derch

Re: You guys are Mean

@Derch:

At the moment, rogue energy regenerates in discrete chunks. Say you have 30 energy, but you need 35 for a skill, then you have to wait 2 seconds. But if energy is regenerating continuously, you just have to wait for 1 second and you have enough for that skill.

That's what "speeding up" means. You get your energy earlier, allowing you to use your skills earlier.

Of course, there is still the GCD, but I think I read in one of the latest notes that Kick is being taken out of rogue's GCD cycle...

Yes, yes it is. WIth the new energy regen and the removal of GCD for kick expect a lot of QQing about rogues.

Possibly even more than usual

Did I mention Daggers, that traditional bane of the clothie got a buff in Wrath of the Lich King as well?
