BlizzCon 2008 is a couple of months away, but we wanted to give you a heads up about some of the contests we’re planning. Movie Contest

Ever since the first “talkie,” people have been mixing sound and motion to create amazing tales of drama, horror, love, and humor. We’re looking for your very best stories of life in Azeroth for this year’s BlizzCon Movie Contest. Contestants are challenged to tell an original and compelling story using game footage from World of Warcraft.

Motivational Poster Contest

Do you turn to the nearest wall whenever you need some inspiration? We're looking for some artistic souls to craft original motivational posters that creatively incorporate original art or screenshots of characters or creatures from the Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo universes. Use your imagination to motivate everyone around you!

Diorama Contest

Story and lore have always been integral parts of Blizzard Entertainment’s games. Here’s your chance to recreate your favorite epic moment -- in the form of a diorama! We’re inviting you to pick a memorable scene from any Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo game and turn it into a miniature model. (Sorry, no World of Warcraft or other Blizzard action figures allowed.) Contestants will need to send us a photo of their diorama along with an in-game screenshot of the scene that inspired it. We’ll pick the most epic entries and showcase them at BlizzCon 2008.

/Silly Contest

This year’s BlizzCon will feature a brand new event: the BlizzCon /Silly Contest. Tap your inner comedian and write a one-liner joke that captures the funny side of one of Blizzard’s games. Send it in, and we’ll pick several finalists to perform their /silly onstage at BlizzCon 2008. The best entries will highlight Blizzard’s games, be original, and -- most of all -- make us laugh out loud.

Costume Contest

We’re proud to bring back the popular BlizzCon Costume Contest for BlizzCon 2008. Once again, we’re looking for talented folks who want to show off their amazing tailoring abilities and enthusiasm for Blizzard games by dressing as characters from the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo universes. This year, we’re pleased to introduce an additional layer to the Costume Contest: We’re giving contestants a chance to stand out not just with their costumes, but with their personalities, too. Participants must not only model their outfits in front of a crowd, but must also impress our judges verbally by acting out a line of dialogue in-character or describing what epitomizes the character they’re dressed as.

Original Song Contest

Blizzard is pleased to once again present the BlizzCon Original Song Contest. We’re looking for the best original musical compositions and lyrics about your favorite Blizzard games. Demonstrate your love of Warcraft, StarCraft, or Diablo by showcasing your musical talents in front of a live crowd. We look forward to jamming with you!

Dance Contest

Straight from the dance floors of Azeroth, we’re proud to present the BlizzCon 2008 Dance Contest. Show off your moves onstage with other fans. Whether you choose to groove as a female blood elf, a male orc, or any of the other rhythmic races of World of Warcraft, it’s time to level up your dancing skills, equip your Blue Suede Shoes, and get ready for BlizzCon.
