Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
As soon as I heard about deathnights, my first reaction was one of confusion. They looked exactly link warlocks, but in plate. Way to make an evil necromancer feel useless...Watching them progress, and seeing just how really evil and badass they've become, I'm starting to feel jealous. Warlocks have always filled the roll of evil dooers, but now there's deathnights, who untop of having some diabolical spells in their arsenal, also look the part. How do you feel about deathnights? Me, I'm still kind of lukewarm on the whole thing. I think warlocks got the shaft here |

If Deathknights were truly evil... They would stick with Arthas instead of going back to their homes before they became undead. At least imo. |

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
We don't need plate. 'nuff said. :P No, but seriously I see what you mean. I get the feeling I'm looking at a Warlock/Warrior hybrid. I hate the amount of "love" Blizzard is putting into the Death Knight. The more people like the Death Knight, the more I'm starting to hate it. The things I've seen so far do not resemble a powerful class, their spells are just graphically enhanced. They look awesome, but are far from it. In my opinion, we have a new wannabe Warlock class, dressed in plate to make up for the lack of power. The reason the class is getting so much attention is because it is the first new class since the release of World of Warcraft. People will go nuts for it, and people will grow bored with it.

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
Deathknights are evil, surely, in that sort of I once was a goody-to-shoes and now I'm gonna wear black sort of way. So they can raise the dead, we got demons and last I checked a demon could still chew the head off a dead body. They wear plate cuz they're afraid they might get hit, we wear cloth because we know nobody can touch us. A deathknight simply sounds like a dead knight... while a Warlock sounds like a battle. Yeah, they got a touch of evil, and I wouldn't mind incorporating them into my evil schemes. But they'll fill the roll of the dumb muscle I manipulate to further my own plans.

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
Not sure about the evil-ness of the two classes but they are massively different - we use fel power and summon demons, death knights are closer to necromancers. I see Death Knights more as anti-paladins really, not really a threat to our role as dark casters. Anyway, I think under lore Death Knights are technically our foot soldiers. We should command an army of them! |

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
don't shadow priests count as evil, do we not share the shadows with friends. i don't think the DK are at all stealing our slice of pie, they look quite interesting though and i'll defiantly be trying one out. |

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
Death Knights need plate because unlike Warlocks they're not snivelling wimps hiding behind a Soul Link to stop them from dying, and unlike Warlocks have the physical development to actually carry a weapon larger than an apple-corer? (and traditionally a Demonic Pact requires some manner of sacrifice on the part of the holder....Death Knights TAKE what they want without bargains...)Nah, whatever friendly bickering there might be, I will be re-rolling. I've never really felt fully at home with my Warlock which is probably due to it still having around 50% of the /played time I have on my Rogue and I've always prefered a more visceral style of play......You know what else? I actually need a new challenge. Being able to tank effectively and dish out outstanding melee DPS are primary reasons for the change - its another aspect of the game I haven't explored fully and to keep things interesting I need to change things around slightly. Check out this video of a level 77 Blood Spec DK: Another Jayde Video, More Blue Posts | DeathKnight.info And if you get chance...play the instanced starting quests in Wrath of the Lich King. Warlocks might be bad, but Death Knights are plain evil.

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
The TRUE masters of evil? I don't see how any class is the true master of evil in this game. You work for your faction be it ally or horde. I suppose you can be secretly evil and unreformed if you're horde, but with Thrall in charge your evil is kinda impotent. You can't join any enemy. You can't raise your own army. You can't try to overthrow the established order. You can't kill your own faction. Your skills, talents, spells, etc are just tools. Any sense of evilness is superficial, at best. That goes for the DK, too. |
