Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
I would say both classes are "evil" but warlocks just seem to be more evil in a way... maybe because warlocks use dark magic all the time. We don't wack stuff with our sword. We warlocks like to watch our prey suffer through damage over time abilities and draining abilities. I still love warlock. But... Depending on if they actually fix affliction for PvP and PvE I may or may not roll a death knight. If they look in the horrible scaling problem affliction has due to gear and fix it somehow and fix the issue of rogues I'll stay Warlock. I'm just sick of having absolutely no chance at all against even moderately geared / skilled rogues due to cloak of shadows, vanishx2, blindx2 and the amount of stuns/control that rogues get in PvP. Unfortunately rogues have only jumped in population as they gain more and more power through gear with armor ignore and whatnot... So almost everywhere you go, theres a rogue. Oh well... rant that belongs in a whole different thread. |

Truth is Sargeras was a Titan, protector of the worlds. He questioned the purpose of his mission after falling in depression and being corrupted by the vast amount of demons he banished in the Twisting Nether so he went dark side and started releasing the demons he had defeated to create an army, the Burning Legion. He is the one that enlisted the 2 leaders of the Eredar as generals to command that army in a Burning Crusade against all worlds. The third leader of the Eredar denied to work for him and his people are called the Dranei. The 2 Eredar that accepted are Kil'Jaeden and Archimonde. It was Kil'Jaeden that created the Lich King by torturing shaman Ner'zhul. I previously used "shaman" as a fun and belittling fact (i play a 70 shaman too so i didn't mean it ) but truth is in my mind Warlocks are born after shamans going dark side like Gul'dan and Ner'zhul and losing the ability to call the spirits but making deals with demons (like Kil'jaeden) gives them , well, other merits ![]() To Theleb: DK maybe have the physical strenth to wield something more than an apple-cutter but that never was an indication of class value. You are inclined towards melee, that much is obvious but you don't have to belittle a class based solely on that. Cause one day an apple cutting lock or mage will make your DK regret it

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
I did not like Death knight much, I really liked the starting area, just don't like the class much. I found them pretty boring. I am just waiting till the fix up locks a bit in beta, cause some stuff like haunts life return is broken, and I don't think death coil is working properly, I use it and get no health back, so dunno. hope they fix locks in beta soon. Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
I'll be leveling my lock to lvl80 and then we'll see if that deathknight will be able to stand against me while I unleash the fury of the shadows and demons. I love my Undead Lock and won't trade it for any other class.

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
I have a Beta test Key, unfortunately my Lock is only a level 61, so I haven't copied him onto WTLK. I rolled a DK & played for 3-4 days. Personally, I hate it. I would rather be a Lock than a DK any day. Stats & DPS aside, it isn't about the math for me- it's about the character I play & DK's are like big dumb jocks who just happen to have some "Lock-like" names attached to their abilities, but they are not Locks & do not have the feel of a Lock. While I look forward to WTLK being released, I look forward most to killing every Horde DK I can- as often as I can, with no mercy. |

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
I think Theleb brings up a good point about the nature of what evil is. Evil, or Good for that matter, is a choice, but it's not a choice of class; it's a choice of actions. A particular class isn't evil. The actions that someone takes while being that class may or may not be evil. Now, having said that, I also remember reading in some DnD book (yes yes, hit me with the geek bat) that there are some spells that are, by their nature, just plain evil because they can serve no purpose that isn't evil. I don't think that's necessarily the case with Death Knights. As for the True Masters of evil? Anyone who thinks they can actually master Evil is the slave, not the master. Evil is its own master, and my warlock is Evil's not-so-humble, vile, servant. Death Knights just strike me as a different flavor of Evil. I would think more about it, but it might distract me from clubbing baby seals.

Re: Will we still be the TRUE masters of evil?
Club Baby Seal is a new level 80 lock ability. It is trainer learned along with Summon Baby Seal. Sorry, this thread seemed to be getting a little too serious.... ![]() Anyway, no other class can put a curse of Doom on a Squirrel and watch it scurry about for a minute trying to find something worthwile to do in its now shortened existance. |
