outlands, now what?
i am going to get to level 58 tomorow, which i am really exited about! =D
and i will be going straight to outland. my question is: what is the first things i should do? i mean in terms of were to visit? what instances to go to? best way to raise money for my epic mount(that one isn't really relivent) ect. i am also interested in sight seeing and lore so if there are good views or lore related things to see could you mention those to. this is probably in the wrong place ore something but im too tired to think properly so if it is im sorry. |

Re: outlands, now what?
Well, when you first enter, make sure you go through the Dark Portal and not get summoned in. When you do that, you'll find a quest just down the steps and to the left for Alliance, right for Horde. That will put you on the right path. You'll be taken to the first town of your faction and be presented with several quests to begin your adventures in the Outland. Leveling from 60-70 will take a lot longer than it took you to level up to 60, so enjoy it as you progress. I currently am going through the process for the third time (first time as a Horde) and have settled on this order.
Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarsh, Terokkar Forest, Nagrand, Blades Edge, then Netherstorm/Shadow Moon Valley. I typically like to play a zone until completion and all the quests are gone before progressing to the next. I suggest the same so that you can experience everything. You'll want to save money as you go since level 70 becomes very expensive between spells, professions, and mounts. Good luck! |

The gear gets a bajillion times better when you get to Outland. While I agree with the competionist idea above, check out wowhead for a list of quest reward gear that would provide awesome upgrades for you and make those chains a priority over others. There are a lot of fun quests, and get used to scooping poop. I'm not a lore expert, but my understanding is Outland is pretty weak when it comes to lore.

Re: outlands, now what?
There is actually quite a lot of lore in the Outlands. I've read that the Horde get the bulk of it though as the Outland is really where the Orcs came from. Most of the Lore is in the Nagrand region, though a fair chunk exist at end game when your actually following the questlines that take you to Lady Vashj, Kael'Thas, Archemonde, and Illidan. Just read over your quests, and you'll find it.

Re: outlands, now what?
thanks to you all.
i will be doing the completion idea as that also seems the most fun way. i am alliance so am a bit disappointed, but i heard the we get more lore in northrend (i might have spelled that wrong) because arthus was a human and we have bigger links than the horde do. i am going to hand in my last few quests to level up now, wish me luck =D |

Re: outlands, now what?
No way. Admittantly I did outland when level 1-60 was still "hard" but I was still levelling slightly faster. Probably because outland is more fun and the quest rewards are better itemised, ie you quest for upgrades and get upgrades, rather than questing for vendorable greens and holding on to certain items 20 levels because you have no luck in instances and no other upgrades exist in quests. Which makes combat less frustrating too. Once you've replaced all your pre outland gear it's a lot less painful.

But speaking from my own personal experiences, leveling took me a lot longer to go up one level in the Outland than it ever did in Azeroth. I did have a lot of fun along the way, and I'm typically one that likes to stop and smell the roses by reading all the quests for lore, and leveling my professions as I go. The OP sounds like that kinda person as well. I merely say that it will take longer to level from my personal experience as well as blizzards claim back when BC came out that they designed Outland to take as long to level in as going from levels 1 - 50. |

Re: outlands, now what?
As far as the mount money goes, it is pretty easy to hit 70 by the time you finish Nagrand. Once you are 70, quests will be paying you 8-12g a piece. It adds up really fast, and is not as boring and repetitive as doing dailies. If you ding 70 in Nagrand, you have 3 whole zones (Blades Edge, Netherstorm, Shadowmoon Valley) to complete all paying good gold for each quest.
