Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
so glad I wasn't the only one who looks at pictures rather than thinking about the words next door to them
Once I'd sorted the need/greed thing I had interface problems; I was actually using the UI arrows to scroll up and down my spell selections mid fight with inevitable results; I keep hitting howl of terror instead of my nuke of choice. I got shouted at again I survived. |

Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
I don't really know how broke it is, but I read a comment in the T5 set page at Wowhead That the 4-set bonus has made a Affli Lock push 56million DPS
(aparently happend to others according to the reply).Corruptor Raiment - Item Set - World of Warcraft Here's the link to the YouTube movie: YouTube - 51/0/10 WotLK Beta Warlock, 56million DPS |

That doesn't work any more - it got fixed, and a couple of things got nerfed into the ground to fix it.

Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
Well last night was another fine example of how Wrath of the Lich King is shaping up for us. Normally my guild raids with 3 locks and preferably 4 if they're all online. Past week it was 3 even when we had 4 locks around. Last night only 2 locks were initially invited. A third lock joined when a spriest had to log for a while. He would have been switched back out for the shadowpriest later on if the Moonkin didn't have to log.
I was the second lock on reserve so I had to sit this one out. It seems raidleaders are starting to catch on that locks are not as useful anymore. As for dps comparisons here is a log from our Brutallus fight. Wow Web Stats Lincor the top rogue has dual legendaries so it's not a real surprise he's quite high. Though the difference with everybody else is quite remarkable to say the least. Dreadful tried a demon build that raid because his preivous aff build had the problem of dots being pushed off (and he was the only aff lock on the raid!). He's also by far the best lock we have both in gear and skill. Previous Brut kills placed him on nr 1 spot with usually 200 to 300+ dps above the nr 2.. nr 2 being another lock. Now he is lucky if he's in the top 10. On M'uru the locks had a field day with dps due to AE, but even with the massive AE damage advantage they only barely got even with rogues and hunters in overall damage (who were switching targets on adds most of the time). We did get KJ down before but had an unlucky streak last night. The logs on him aren't all that good. |

Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
been through the mill with lock dps and I've come out *fairly* optimistic about the future (the present is an aberation before expansion) but that comment really does scare me. That's game mechanics which blizz have said they're not changing (a long while back). I *cannot* believe they don't know about this; look at how many debuffs each class brings to a raid....if any USA people are reading this I'd be grateful if you'd blitz the forums until we get a blue (blue's aren't active in europe forums).

Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
I raided last night (basically full destro) and was outdamaged by the hunters (among them a level 68) and the paladins and a few others (I wasn't even in top 10). Sadly, my impression during the raid was that I was doing some nice damage.

Re: how broken are locks? (extrapolating from ptr)
re my above debuff worries should mention this that I've just found
Raid Stacking Blue Post Mentions New DK Buff | DeathKnight.info GC talking about 100 slots if required, in Wrath of the Lich King. So looks like they'll make buff probs much better at very least. |
