Soul bags

Seems like Blizzard could give us a hand here. Yes, we'll get 32 slot soul bags come xpac ( Abyssal Bag - Item - World of Warcraft ). But let's be honest: considering soul shards don't stack coupled with the facts that nothing else can be placed in a soul bag except soul shards and that the other "class" specific bags (ie. ammo bags) offer the wearer the added versatility of increased dps (ex. Dragonscale Ammo Pouch - Item - World of Warcraft ), not every lock goes out of his / her way to get one.

Personally, I didn't make my first one til I was level 50-ish ( Soul Pouch - Item - World of Warcraft ). Only made my current one AFTER I completed my FSW set and was just in the habit of making shadowcloth already ( Ebon Shadowbag - Item - World of Warcraft ). Come on blizzard, make this worth our time. Let shards stack (could care less if they stack in 2' or 20's ) or give us some passive stats (+hit / +crit / +spirit) on our bags. Please??

Re: Soul bags

/agree...sort of

I used the soul box that I got from the succubus quest (I think that's right, it was a very long time ago) all the way to level 70 and had absolutely no problems with it. I mean, it's not as though shards are hard to make, or even that we need a lot of them. How many of our usual powers actually consume them? I'm sure you don't have to re-summon your demon often enough that it's an issue, I never use my soul fire spell, I'm not destro but even if I was, shadowburn replaces the shard it uses, and who ever actually uses enslave demon?

I only bothered to make my 28-slot soul bag because I found out that shadow damage is going the way of the dinosaur, and FSW robe is no longer worth the effort. I know that I will definitely not be wasting my cloth on a measly four extra shards.

As for passive bonuses...what would be the basis? A hunter's quiver or ammo bag could be ergonomically designed to increase reloading speed, and thus attack rate...but how would a magic bag increase your powers?

Re: Soul bags

Have to agree with Airlance.

It's ridiculously easy while battleground'ing or raiding to go through 12 shards before you blink. Soulwells, soulstones, demon summons (especially us Destro types who have to sac every 30 minutes), raid member summons. It would be helpful if they upped us to say, a 36 or 40 slot bag, or yes, give us a passive bonus. Doesn't have to be anything huge, just something to make shards a little more worthwhile.

Re: Soul bags

I think the shards should have the stats instead of the bag, something like +1 [random stat] for each shard in your soul bag

I can see people leeching Souldshards and destroying them until they only get their stat of choice an hour before a raid :-).

I generally try to bring 50 shards to any given T6 raid. On progression nights, I will generally wind up with 5 or 10 left after 2-3 hours, and thats with grabbing them as I can off of trash.

Soulwells, summoning people, demonic sacrifice, deathcoil, soulstones, shatter ans some people use the fire spell that requires a shard and I can not recall the name of ATM. It all adds up fast when you are spending time on a progression boss.

I have a soulshard bag but I never use it. I mean when I am doing an instance somtimes I need the extra bag space so I just use my neatherweave bags.

I have when raiding, you will burn through stones, espcially on the higher level raids. Someone had also mentioned that you never really use Enslave Demon. It depends on what you are doing. When I'm doing H Bot, There are a couple time when I'll use it to to reduce some of the trash mob, then release him once everyone else is killed.

Re: Soul bags

you do have to have enslave demon in at least one raid i can think of and a few heroics, H-Mech you usually wind up enslaving and banishing a lot
gruuls lair you usually use it to take the wild felhunters to either tank with them or just use em to dps till they die.
bot you usually enslave one or two, but not in heroic
there are probably a few other places.
personally when i'm doing my dailies, I'm 21/40 so i sac a felhunter and enslave one of the demons near the portal, it makes the dailies a bit simpler.
