Re: Soul bags
I have two 28 slotters i always bring on raids and only equip one all other times. This way i don't hve to worry about running out or trying to farm them on trash. Bag space is never a problem as i clear out anything not needed for the raid anyway. |

Re: Soul bags
I mentioned this idea in a similar thread a while back and I'd love for something like this to be implemented. Quest chain at level 80, along the lines of our Dreadsteed quest where we have to collect materials to make a Depleted Soul Prism. An artifact that imprisons an infinite number of souls that have been taken by the warlock. Upon collection of these various things, the final part of the chain is to go to an instance for a big showdown, to either reach an altar or collect the final item from a boss in order to activate The Prism. When completed, the level 80 warlock has a one slot item (The Prism) in the inventory which removes the need for soul shards. Any shard costs previously incurred by the previous 80 levels and countless mobs, enemies and hours / days played is finally rewarded with never having to carry bags of shards around with them ever again. The catch? The Prism will give the warlock a mild but annoying debuff if he doesn't charge The Soul Prism with a fresh soul from time to time; say every 4 hours of played time. This will ensure that warlocks still have a use for the drain soul spell, but removes the need for having one or more bags devoted to their storage and it also means any lengthy activity remains fairly uninterrupted. I like it. Whether it will happen is largely dependent on Blizzard seeing this and thinking it's an idea worthy of stealing ![]() I'd let them have it if it meant something cool like this coming out of it. Re: Soul bags
Oh please stop comparing shards to quivers. Unless every single spell we cast requires a shard, there's no comparison. That said, yes shards should stack. orz |

Re: Soul bags
No one is actually comparing soul shards to ammunition, but soul bags to ammo pouches / quivers. A ammo bag can carry well over 1000 rounds of ammunition. A soul bag carries 28 shards. Yes, not every spell warlocks have requires a shard, but not every ability hunters have requires them to shoot things (Survival tree, pet attacks, traps, etc.). And, explain to me how a bag can help a hunter shoot faster and this makes sense, but a MAGICAL bag that automatically carries souls for us giving us some innate bonus doesn't. ![]() The only reason I brought up the passive stat idea is because, outside of professions, there are only two classes that have specialized bags to carry that does little to nothing for any other class. However, hunters get something extra out of using those bags, warlocks don't. Besides the fact that soul bags tend to be able to carry more souls than normal bags of similar level, there is no real reason to go out and make them. So adding stats to the bags, even minute ones, adds incentive to make and carry them. Likewise, if they just wanted to make it easier for us to carry shards on us, just scrap the whole soul bag deal and let our shards stack. Running out of bag space because either you're carrying +50 shards that you will need or because you've used all your normal slots and can't stick things in the soul bag gets annoying... |

Re: Soul bags
The solution is 4 posts up from this one. I'd actually love some feedback / critique so don't be shy

Personally though, I compare soul bags to profession bags(herb bag etc) for some reason. Being new to WoW and the warlock class, I had no idea the Eye could deal damage. Thanks for the information.

Re: Soul bags
I've always defended the notion of soul shards and farming, but I think the argument for keeping soul shards lost a bit of weight when they implemented a bow that required no arrows. ![]() How about a bonus to spell hit/haste/damage/crit that scales with the number of shards in the bag? The better buffs could go with the higher end bags, like scopes do now. They'd have to implement a limit of one bag equipped for it to work, though. |

Re: Soul bags
I was referring to this post about why quivers stack and shards don't. Hunters expend ammo in quantities many times of how many shards warlocks spend in a whole night of playing. 60 shards is quite a lot for warlocks, but 60 arrows? That's why quivers stack. So for the few who still complain about this, it's not a valid argument. That said, yes, I also like to see something on our bags. Even if it's just 10% haste. (*cough*) |

Re: Soul bags
I want to start of saying Vaell I love your idea. However what i was thinking may be a little more simplistic. Make Soul bags (regardless of name) a unique equip-item, this way we can still make them to sell. But put in a hidden equip bonus, that all shards in the bag will stack to 5, 10 or 20. I was never a hardcore T6 raider but I'll go thru 30 or so shards on any given raid night as well. (not counting farming on trash.) Figure they stack to 5, 32 slot bag thats still 160 shards. By the way it sounds, that should get at least most us through the raid week and we can always farm and replenish as we go.
