general theory crafting question for 3.0 and wrath
ok well first if this has already been posted or answered my apologies, its late and I'm taking a short break on a paper but anyways. I was on ptr earlier working on new talent builds and while going through the destro and afflic trees i saw the +hit talents, Supression and Cataclysm. Since both of these are +3% spell hit, would this infact put us on a level playing field with mages as far as hit, making it around 163 for a cap? Because if so I'll need to pick up a few new gems and such to compensate. Thanks in advance everyone And btw, for those who haven't tried it the affliction tree is absolutely fabulous

Re: general theory crafting question for 3.0 and wrath
actually 164 @ 70 if I recall correctly 12.6*13 = 163.8 = 164 after 3.0 you'll need to add 12.6 to that number too so the final number is 12.6*14 = 176.4 = 177 reason is post 3.0 we'll be able to FULLY CAP HIT like physical damage dealers can current miss rate is 17%, so we'll need a total of 17 - 3 = 14 last note is that soulshatter ( our aggro dump ) is not affected by either talent __________________________________________________ ____________________________________________ for level 80 raids... according to EJ => Combat Ratings at level 80 - Elitist Jerks 1 spell hit = 26.2 WITH TALENTS = 14% 14 * 26.2 = 366.8 = 367 CAP = 17% 17 * 26.2 = 445.4 = 446 Last edited by Coud; October 03, 2008 at 01:40 AM.. |

Re: general theory crafting question for 3.0 and wrath
With boss health getting nerfed by 30%, I'm thinking we can get away with no hit talents at all in 3.0, seeing we'll all be squeezed for talent points. For wrath, I'll probably still cap by equipment and spend those points somewhere else, unless I get in a raid with reliable hit buff attendance. Especially with Demonology, who really cannot go for threat reduction talents, Soul Shatter may mean a lot if it resists. Plus, if I recall correctly pet output are buffed. So an even more significant part of Demonology output will be the Felguard, meaning we also want him to cap his hit chance. Which reminds me...do pets benefit from Suppression and/or Cataclysm? If so, which pets from which? If not, maybe we've just found ourselves two meaningless talents? |
