Mageweave Cloth Farming...

Hello all!

Quick observation here...I'm an enchanting/tailoring warlock, and before the patch I was farming the dunemaul ogres in Tanaris for mageweave cloth (2-4 cloths, every other kill, on average).

I tried it again yesterday (first time since the patch) and only got 1 drop from 20 mobs

Has anybody noticed the drop rates changing from other mobs, for mageweave or other cloths? I've only been playing for about three months, so I don't know if things like this change with new patches...anybody have some other suggestions for farming mageweave? I should add--specifically, after the patch, have you noticed increased drop rates. Because I definitely noticed decreased drop rates from aforementioned ogres...

CURSE PRE The Burning Crusade TIMBERMAW REP FARMING!!

this is actually an achievement to hit that rep, so not a bad idea! lol

Another great source would be for yo to farm ZF. you will get lost of mageweave, and since your enchanter you can DE the greens/blues. On my server the shards are still going for 10g a piece.

Re: Mageweave Cloth Farming...

ZF ist a great place to farm mageweave cloth. I pulled a guildies alt through ZF these days 'cause he couldn't find a group for hours and got some 7 stacks of mv cloth. "The Stairs" for itself is worth the time to get there.^^ Sending my Blue Friend down at the very start, following and seeding three times made the event almost fail. Make sure, that at least one mob triggers captives to enter fight or they'll might stay upstairs forever.
AND ... ZF is definitely a place for one's own, while poor timbermaw furbolgs are probably being farmed by dozens of parties for "Diplomat" title (or something like that), furthermore you are stealing quest mobs from low 50s.

Re: Mageweave Cloth Farming...

actually, its just that the mobs below are on a long respawn timer, so if you go to them and kill them all, there is nothing there til a minute or two later. i ran a pally through yesterday while earning the achievement(hey i don't loot the bodies, and i can't DE the blues, so why not give it to some lowbie, keep this in mind if your running instances for achievements. you get more money) then after killing all of the stairs and down below with demon form, nothing popped up so i was down there wondering WTF was going on when suddenly 60 mobs spawned on top of me. luckily meta only had 15 seconds left on cooldown or i would have been screwed.
