Attention, hacking trial?

You probably know i am in Sunstrider - EU server.

Not belonging to a guild for some months, I joined a PVP one recently, named "Essence of Shadow". Not something particular there, no premade ever done.

Today, Sethina, an old guid member, told me to put her in the guild again, since she was out by mistake. I did. Then she told me she wanted to help me and suggested me to visit a site in order to give me there free 1000g.

I said what site, and she told me that i should not tell anybody else...

I said "no ty" and she didnt respond further.

Half an hour later i checked guild-members names again (off line too). No Sethina was there..

Devious, but transparent. Best attempts I've seen were people creating alts named similarly to our guilds officers, getting invited to the guild, and then asking to be promoted high enough to get at the bank. We always confirm these things by phone/vent now.

Re: Attention, hacking trial?

We've seen a few guild bank thefts on our server. Supposed alt gets invited in without vetting, gains access to the bank, clears it out.

First line of defense - nobody gets invited as an alt unless they log in their main and you agree on a secret word. The main also has to tell you the name of the alt. (And the secret word is an optional aspect and mostly for amusement.)

Confirming through Vent/Phone also works.

I've been using the "login your main, tell me your alt's name" for years. It stops a lot of the problems. Unfortunately, not all officers are security conscious and are easily fooled by social engineering.
