Someone actually knows about that?!?Anyway, happy about: - Spellstone and Firestone are usable (and very nice too) - Meta is fun - Same hellfire-immolate comment as all before did ![]() - Lock player quality is going higher every day - few days ago I was pugging heroic Sethekk with a relatively clueless tank, and 2 felguards and my meta were very helpful in saving the healer many times (although I used more soulshards on FG resummon than anything else ) - 2 locks were only ones that survived the Talon King too ![]() - I don't get random comments for being Demo in party/raid ![]() - I want to try out Affli and Destro, but just can't move myself away from FG and Meta..... |

Re: Reasons to be cheerful
I'm having so much fun PvPing as Destro. With all the combinations of interrupts, stuns and cc I'm not making any friends with the allies in BGs. I'm liking the abilty of seduce to not only for cc, but as an interrupt mechanism, mainly at healers. The pure joy of taking out a warrior with a pocket healer. Feared the holy pally while seducing the warrior, dots and bursts to take the warrior down while the succy switches to the holy pally to stop heals. The only real concern I have now is the succy going OOM and survivability. After a while my opponents are starting to go for the succy first, had mages silence me then burst down my succy, rogues cc me and take the succy out before me. I remember reading somewhere long ago that one ablity they were considering with Demoic Circle was the ability to summon a pet faster if you were in the circle. I would love to have this implemented as it would be nice to be able to resummon or switch pets quickly depending on the opponent that you are facing. It would give a quick breathing space to resummon a pet and get back on the offensive. Well, I just hope that the Blues just keeps on reading the offical warlock's forum and not here.

Re: Reasons to be cheerful
Being affliction since creation on jan 5, 2005 I am so extremely in love with the changes coming along to the tree. Pandemic is a step in the right direction (though I still get "affliction doesn't need crit!"; then I link them the talent and they shutup). My guild didn't make it very far in BC so doing ZA last night someone went "holy crap Pyros (mage, think arcane), Banehollow (ele sham) and Aily (me) are all over 1k dps!". It was great. Having missed most of BC myself it was great to be near the top like I was in early MC w/ dark pact on long fights. - Doomguard: outstanding, I've been using it every hour on the hour if I'm out doing something. Telling people it doesn't kill them anymore helps too. - Felhunter: getting to use something other than a phased out imp is great, he actually lives quite a while and ends up a good deal of my damage. - The dot rotation of affliction, while long, is fun. (immo, SiL, corr, Curse of Agony, ua, haunt) I've found grouping them up works best. I like to open with Curse of Agony, Corr, SiL then go into UA and Immo together (then they can be refreshed together) and hit haunt and SB inbetween. I hope they look at timers like they said though. If say just 2 of the other spells had the same timer it would be very easy to keep up the rotation w/o removing a spell. This thread definitely helps me want to keep warlock as main through Wrath of the Lich King despite the fun of DK. |

Re: Reasons to be cheerful
I'd have to say the one moment of bliss I got from the changes was dueling my best friend outside of Black Temple before raid starts. He's a T6 rogue with enough crit and agi to make most others cry. B4 duel starts: 1-Summon VW 2-Consume shadows, see him 3-Fear 4-Wait for fear to break DOT DOT DOT 5-Death coil 6-FD-Felguard 7-Felguard intercept 8-Meta (we were doing Illidan so I spec'd for tanking him...sorta...) 9-Immolation Aura 10-Charge, Cleave The duel lasted a grand total of 17 secs. He CALLED me right afterwards and asked me WTH I did to him

Re: Reasons to be cheerful
A lock killing a rogue is always a wonderful thing lol. Everytime a lock kills a rogue a lock get his wings... meaning we should get out t6 shoulder or i guess since it's pvp our s3 shoulders lol |

I respec'd to a pvp oriented Haunt build after taking a little break to finish leveling my Warrior. I'm really liking it. Imp fear + fear glyph is awesome. Fear is actually useful again. I'm able to control fights from beginning to end, as long as their trinket is on CD of course. If I can stay back at the beginning of a fight, my DOTs and continuous fears can really turn a battle. Just last week I was raving about Meta in the BG's, but now that I'm Afflic again, I'm real quick on banishing the horde that pops Meta anywhere near me.

Re: Reasons to be cheerful
What I've noticed since 3.0.3 in Alterac Valley is that warlocks can once again rise to the top of the total damage column. Especially if I travel with the main pack and meet up with a pack of horde where I can hide and drop Seed of Corruption on everything within range. (I generally tab-target and just chain-cast Seed until I run out of mana.) A warlock, chain-casting SoC, can really turn the tide if I can keep from being targeted. Three or four SoC blasts going off in short succession almost always results in half a dozen HKs. Or at least weakens the onslaught enough that the rest of the team can take down the stragglers with ease. |
