Re: Warlock changes as close as the next major patch?
I think we will have to wait until 3.1 for the "cool stuff" as GC put it. 3.0.8 was intended as a bugfix/minor issues/minor class changes patch anyway according to what I can read from the forums and the patch notes.

That's the problem. None of these children who started playing in BC after looking up what the most OP class was and created a warlock wants to wait for anything. |

Re: Warlock changes as close as the next major patch?
For PvP 1) I like the Chaos Bolt damage increase (already in game), about 200 more damage. Even with my crap gear, I feel like that it is at least threatening. 2) The demonic teleport change to break snare is pretty nice. With more and more usage, demonic teleport is getting to become very useful. But it is not something that is straight forward and it takes time to get used to. 3) Most of all, the interface improvement, to have the demonic teleport icon dim when not in range and light up when in range is the best change. but yeah, +120% to demon armor is not going to do anything...... that's like 2% more mitigation?? It is tough for us right now, but it is really no tougher than pre 1.8.

Re: Warlock changes as close as the next major patch?
To those who say, "by the time they fix locks everyone else will have epics/ratings/gears, blah blah blah", calm down. Gear isn't THAT hard to come by and neither are raids and teams that need people who show up. For pvp locks are "probably" the most broken class still, so? Blizzard has said they will continue to work to change that, what more do you want? The unit of time measuring reasonable response is at least months. If you want changes NOW, quit, this is not the game for you, Blizz doesn't work that way. For pve, I'll continue to suggest that locks are far from broken, with proper play you can be VERY competitive in raid dps. Honestly, this site alone has all the tips and tricks you need to be competing for top dps in your raids. If you can't figure it out or you can't play the way you need to, then I guess you just can't. Sorry, but that's the harsh truth of it, great raid damge and dps IS VERIFIABLY possible. Yes, it takes more effort than it did in BC, so? I'm seriously tired of hearing locks bitching about it. At this point the "cookie cutter" specs and rotations have been established, if you can't at least follow one of these and compete.........I'm sorry. |

Re: Warlock changes as close as the next major patch?
Someone else said it another thread - but if you're purely PvE - you're failure to be sympathetic to PvP locks is a little sad. Imagine if Locks in PvE lost your tanks - you now have no threat mitigation - you die immediately - no chance to do damage - you'd be crying like crazy. Just because PvE is not broken (and BTW Afflocks are not broken - but pure Demo or Destro locks are not good for PvE - you MUST hybrid 41/30, 31/40 or some similar spec if you're not afflic) - so if you're one dimensional - I really think you should stay out of the conversation. |

Re: Warlock changes as close as the next major patch?
Well ... I really don't want to agree with those, who complain about not getting a spots in raids, etc. I have 2 chars - Warlock which was my main, but which has moven to alt spot in The Burning Crusade already and Druid tank, which is my main ever since it has been leveled to max level. The warlock is now level 70 still, but I am going to level it to 80 as well, just not yet. But if we get back to what I wish to say, then as tank, sometimes MT in some naxx 10 man pugs or once even done part of 25 man pug (with not the best success ofc hehe) I have never though of not letting some class to come, just because it is bad class. I have never placed dps output of certain class higher than personality of player who sits behind the screen. Yes, I agree it sometimes lowers raids overall dps and some would say it is wrong, and I will not ever get a great achievments in raiding, but I would say - whatever. I play the game for fun and so does all the people especially those who play classes which aren't in best shape at the moment. What I want to say with this ? Just that you, guys, maybe haven't found the right groups. The right guilds, the right people to do raiding with. I would never turn out the warlock just cause "the class sux at the moment". Or the second possibility - you are to blame yourself. I know a lot of people who still lives in fantasy of no-pugging playstile. Heroic and even current raids are so easy, that even pugs can do fine. At least the 10 man versions. And that way if you will try to find only guild runs, where hardcore players plays, the possibility to be sent away with texts "if ya not do 10000 dps, you can't come" is really high. So dunno anything much about PvP, but as for PvE I can just say - never say you can't ever get spot to heroic / raid. You are either not searching hard enough, or you simply fail at playing your class, so noone wants to take you anymore. But most likely it's just the first option.

Quote:
Don't tell me what I "must" do. I'm a meta/ruin lock, and I am plenty viable. It's only a very small % of players who are Nax 25 raiders and NEED to have the absolute "best" EJ build to raid. For the rest of us, our desired specs work just fine thanks. In fact at more moderate, closer to average, gear levels, I feel I actually have an advantage as deep demonology. Lastly, you don't get to decide who takes part in the conversation and who does not. Anybody with a point of view to share and some constructive information or ideas is most welcome I'm sure. It's endless negative QQ that's not useful or particularly welcome, and that's got nothing to do with having "sympathy" for PvP locks. Personally, resilience shared with our demons, fear made more viable again, and stune resistance/breaks are where I'd like to see us go in PvP... and I'm happy to discuss positive changes that could be made to help locks in PvP.
