Arena burst damage

Okay so i started a 2s team with a pretty skilled rogue friend of mine whos been doing arenas since they first started. We go in and have a whole plan set up and it works most of the time except for when we go up against melee teams....its ridiculous we get out there and 2 rogues hop on me and im dead in less than 2 secs( not exagerating) or when i go up against a pally/dk team and i die before i can get a spell off? How is that fair? How am i supposed to defend against a warrior that crits for 13k? If you guys could give me suggestions/advice on how to survive these encounters it would be really appreciated!

Damage all around is pretty ridiculous right now, and there very few things that we currently have as a class to mitigate against that. One thing that I've been doing is switching armor a lot (ie running in with Demon Armor up and switching when on the offensive), which doesn't help much but does buy a few seconds to get a trinket + Death Coil, Teleport, or Shadowfury off. The other tactic I tried was speccing Meta and popping it right when I get into combat. This definitely helps with survivability, but I felt like I had zero damage capability with Meta (my damage in Arena fights went down by about 30%) and went back to Destro.

Against 2 Rogues, there isn't much you can do, unless your Rogue manages to get Sap off before they open on you and then can open on the remaining Rogue. You should probably try to burn one down as fast as possible while forcing a trinket from the other so that you can chain CC him with Fear and Blind.

Surprisingly, Paladin/DK was one of the easier fights for me when I was paired with a Rogue (running with DK or Pally now). The strategy is quite similar. What I was doing with my partner was immediately focusing on the Paladin while Seducing the DK to force an early bubble and then switching targets to burn the DK down before they could react. We won about 5 or 6 games straight against one Pally/DK team like this, although I kind of doubt the skill of the team we were up against since it's a very strong comp.

Has anyone tried switching/using a VW to counter the melee heavy teams that seem to be prevalent? Start with consume shadows to spot the rogue, use the AOE taunt to reduce hit for a few seconds then sac it and pray you and your partner can burst down 1 of them before your shield wears off. Or does the shield just not last long enough to make it worth losing soul link? Was gonna try this next time I ran with my 3s and 5s team for kicks.

Well ive been using the shield technique and its started to help alittle...but once it bursts ....im done for...its just amazing how rogues and pallys can magically get out of everything you throw at them...
