Re: Thread highlight: Warlocks vs Mage

I can see were hes coming from, but at the same time, a mage can replace a warlock in the same way. More times then not I'm trying to get into 10 man nax and they have a dps slot left, and said they'd rather take a fire mage. In my situation, fel armor buffed I have about 1770 spell power. I asked and the mage they were taking had like 1600. Being that I'm also an affliction, the dps provided by a mage, with the buffs they have will over ride a lock more times than not.

Re: Thread highlight: Warlocks vs Mage

The point of the thread was not about who has the biggest numbers on Recount. Mage DPS is almost up with Warlock DPS. Add in a little extra utility from Mages and the "class budgets" are about the same. The design flaw in question was about the overall similarity of warlocks to mages, as compared to other classes. Other classes bring semi-unique buffs in that it takes two (or three) other classes to fully replace them.
The OP is merely suggesting moving the buffs around to split the two classes.

Re: Thread highlight: Warlocks vs Mage

im sorry to say that i have been apart of this argument.it brings us back to the point of whos the srtongest class and theres only one awnser.I hate to say it because i am a warlock and a proud one at that but here it is ALL CLASSES ARE EQUAL!Now im not saying there isnt the argument on melee v. spellcasters and then theres the thing on stats but in the beginning of it blizzard made all classes none better than the next.As i said i still am a big warlock fan and player and wish that they were better than mages so the mages would shut up but thats fact all classes are equal.Oh and by the way im new to this website i deleted my last main and accedentally messed up my accaount and had to redownload the game so now i have to start over but ive seen enough through 55 lvls to know dont judge people by their class cuz thats no better than common racism when it comes to my point of view which is also true for racism between horde and alliance but i dont want to rant so ill stop here.

Re: Thread highlight: Warlocks vs Mage

Well yes mages may be similar to destruction locks with the burst damage but they are certainly not like affliction locks. I believe every class is different in their own ways and as much as mages might seem similar, they do not have the same spells. Period.
