Check these guides out on MMO-Champion

Auction House Guide, Vanish Bugs, Comics
Auction House Guide - Inscription

Although with so many people having read them, you'll probably do best profiting from the opposite now...

Re: Suprisingly High Auction Results

Thanks Xavron, I've always been kind of intimidated by all of Auctioneer's options.

Another suggestion I have, and this is going to sound stupid, but a LOT of people do it...

When you're putting items up for sale in the AH, don't undercut by too much. If you're selling [Hat] and you look at the prices in the AH, and the cheapest one is 55g buyout and 50g bid, don't sell it for 10g less than you can get it for. BE PATIENT. Put the item up there for 54g instead of 40g. Don't drive prices down for everyone, and most importantly, don't limit the amount of gold you can make. If someone wants [Hat], they'll buy the cheapest one up there, plain and simple. Sometimes it may take a second go-round at the AH, but usually not.

Re: Suprisingly High Auction Results

I, for one, am not gonna give away my gold-making secrets. Why would I create competition for myself? But I will simply say that I am amazed by the number of people who never seem to have more than 1K gold.

I used to wake up early in the morning, flying the same boring farming route. Or I'd head out to the Isle in BC and do the daily's there. But now i spend under an hour, buying and reselling. So the next time you are spending 100g on something, I want you to know that I bought it for 50g. In fact, I probably bought everything there was at 50g. That's the same for your 5g purchases too. You might of got them for 3g each, but alas, there are stacks of them now in my guild bank.

I'm not greedy by any means. I do not sell gold for real money. I spend them on gearing my toons and buying what i want when i want. And I don't want to spend endless hours farming. I'd rather be raiding or pvping.

If you wanna be a buyer/reseller, though, you're going to need at least 10k gold to keep you afloat. And you should stick with several markets you know. And study it a bit. Start off buying a few things to resell.

You also need to be get used to your gold fluctuating and don't panic from this. I might have 15k one day and be under 10k the next. Just remember, that 5k isn't lost. It's sitting in your bank waiting to be sold for 7-10k.

Have i lost money before? Yes. It happens. But in general, the times i have lost money is because i was too hasty in a new market I didn't know or I panicked. Do not panic. What I have experience is that in a few weeks, prices will rise again. So just sit on what you have and dabble in your other markets.
