Let's make a serious suggestion list to Blizzard, as the whole Den

We could address a series of changes needed by the class in several areas, with a moderator organizing the suggestions of the whole forum into something pragmatic, acceptable, intelligent.

Akasha would have made one separate topic for every spell and talent to discuss, with specific rules on how to post, but my style is we should just be 1) realistic with expectations and 2) easy to understand, in order for a moderator to be able to create the final product.

I'll make an example: "Soothing Kiss" is useless, because the succubus never outaggroes anything else, but it would have some use if the ability lowered the player's threat instead. People would voiced their opinion about this, and the moderator will have the last word on the proposal's inclusion.

Re: Let's make a serious suggestion list to Blizzard, as the whole Den

My only real peeve about the state of warlocks at the moment is our demons. I understand that the AI will improve in 3.3 in that we will get a 'come here' button for retrieving our pets.
My big issue is the abilities of the pets themselves:
Imp: Firebolt machine gun, foot-tall mouth piece. He's pretty much perfect for his niche - ranged dps.
Voidwalker: Blueberries, now with more 'squish'. He was at one time a great pet. Then I could out threat him with any cast-time spell, and before a full round of DoTs went up as affliction. My recommendation would be to up his aggro ability to exceed the Felguard. Maybe even making the autocast for suffering work on solo mobs too, and up his mana regen accordingly.
Succubus and Felhunter: PvP...ish. I think these pets should be redesigned. As the Voidwalker should be our tank, and the Imp is our 'mage' pet, so too should these pets have a better defined purpose. Succubus - pure PvP. Move the Spell Lock, etc from the puppy over to the Succy. Reduce her dps accordingly. Make the Felhunter the defacto affliction pet, where his damage scales with the number of DoTs his owner has on the target.
Felguard: Now opening cans of whoop ____. This guy is just about right. I'd personally take out Anguish and up his dps enough to make Demonology warlocks within about 2-4% of the dps of the other specs (just have to watch 0/41/30). The added damage should just about cover his threat loss, but he should still be out-tanked by a Voidwalker.

How about this:

Voidwalker: this tanking pet has 2 problems, it builds threat terribly slowly, and it has recently been nerfed in stamina to correct the Sarth exploit. The former needs a boost by 50%-100% in either threat generation or cooldowns, the latter could be fixed by rolling back the changes and making Sarth ignore the voidwalker. As of now, a warlock wanting to do some serious tanking with this pet has to wait for at least 1 minute (doing nothing) so that it builds up enough threat not to be outaggroed with 2 dots.

I agree whole-heartedly on the aggro. Maybe make suffering a substantial AoE threat spell, ie Thunderclap, and allow it to autocast even on single mobs. As for the voidwalker health nerf... I don't think there is much of a problem with the way it was before. Maybe just up Sarth's breath damage a bit.

Voidwalkers aggro gain is extremely terrible... normaly 1 CB and they guys wanna come smack me. i think they should up his taunt aggro amount or let him have more than 1 taunt... maybe take out the Consume Shadows? i mean if my VW needs heals ill just health funnel him then drain the next mob i fight or use a HS to recover HP. And for the Succubuss i dont realy see her point in the game... any dungen/raid monster can one shot her so if they want to make her more PVE useable they need to up her def or something so she isnt one shot by mobs. i mean if we have eneogh stam we can take 1 or 2 hits from a mob but she cant even take half a hit.....

How about make Anguish and Torment high damaging attacks that also have a high threat modifer... reduce the cooldown on Suffering to 30 sec... Soothing Kiss reducing Warlock's threat is a neat idea... take Seduce off Fear deminishing returns... turn the Infernal into a Guardian so it doesn't dismiss our pet since it goes away after 60 sec.

Just a few thoughts on pets,
Kalium

Here's a suggestion, although it's more anti-warlock. It still makes no sense. When I'm fighting a warlock with my Shaman, I try to purge them of the VW sacrifice shield. I purge everything else first. With my purge I want to get rid of that shield. Sorry Warlocks but this doesn't make sense.

Umm.... sorry, but dispels, purges, etc. are never a "purge this particular spell" sort of thing.

I think actually if I'm reading you right, your idea is not good. What's the point in sacrificing a pet, which is a massive inconvenience (just having the useless piece of blue fluff out is) for us and effectively something we can't casually put back if someone can remove it with a spammable instant? It *should* take several purges to remove. It's out sheild and a panic button or tide turner. From a balance point of view it just feels wrong that what is such a pain to use should just be the first thing to go when you purge our debuffs. Why even bother using a move if a single purger can remove it the moment it goes up?
