Stats foe a demo loc
for a demo loc, which is the most important stat. stamina or intellect and does spell power play a greater role in affc than demo? |

Demonology Thread - Elitist Jerks Demo Lock use Demonic Aegis, which scale on Spirit. Deep Demo also use Demonic pact, which scale on Spell power. Int will give you mana and crit. Stam is cool and all, but does not increase your DPS, it just makes you harder to kill. |

It also depends on whether you are balancing your personal DPS as a demo lock or your raid utility with demonic pact. Haste is pretty much up there with spirit in terms of good stats to have as demo for personal DPS output, but spirit is better to stack to add to your spell power boost to the raid. Crit is a secondary stat but quite useful. The more crit you have, the more likely your pet will crit due to the later tier demo talent which improves demonic pact uptime also. |

it really depends on what you want to do with your demo lock. For pvp i stack stam enchants + stam gems, for raiding stack spirit and haste. you will get a crit boost from speccing into demonic tactics, and with improved demonic tactics you should see >90% uptime for demonic pact in a raid. of course, make sure you are hit capped too, that should be your first priority. |

Here's the weights i'm using, taken from simcraft: HitRating=2.65 (until capped of course) SpellDamage=1.34 HasteRating=1.21 Spirit=1.09 CritRating=0.78 Intellect=0.47 Stamina=0.20 |

I have never understood the whole stat weights thing...though I don't understand the use of Simcraft anyways. I am going to try and take a stab at it: from the numbers you posted, a demo lock will want twice as much int as stam, and over twice as much spirit as that? |

Yeah, i think you're getting the idea right. It's how much gear stats are worth so you can compare 2 pieces of gear and decide which to wear. Let's say you're wearing the Britches Of A Crapload Of Stamina, which provides nothing other than +100 stamina. But then you kill the Lich King! And he drops his Pants That Smell Like Teen Spirit! It has nothing but +20 spirit on it. Which one should you wear? Well, 100 stamina * .20 = 20. 20 Spirit * 1.09 = 21.8, so you should take those epic Pants That Smell Like Teen Spirit. Of course, you don't do all the math every time some gear drops; you download an addon like Pawn, plug in the weights appropriate for your spec, and then the addon "assesses the value of items for you to make it easy to decide which items are better than others."
